Well all I can say is I have seen thousands of tv’s as I have been a cable tech for 14 years and I will tell you this is a great tv. Some will say that the Android system that Sony and others use is sluggish and jittery but my top of the line iPhone also is jittery at times. So the bottom line is the new android system is not that bad. As far as the rest of the tv I’m impressed with the sound quality of this set. The 900f seems to have very small speakers but even at half volume it is very loud and clear I was watching planet earth 2 in 4K and the sound sounded like it was coming out of my home theater system. Ok now for the picture, the picture is stunning, it is what you would want in a regular tv for all types of viewing. It is very bright and can clearly be seen even when the sun is coming in through the windows. Try doing that with a OLED. I had the money to buy pretty much any tv in the 65 inch range and I choose this one for the same reasons I’m explaining. The HDR picture is stunning the SD picture is great football doesn’t get that soap opera effect. You just need to set it up tweek the settings and have the right source material. Don’t expect flawless picture from a subpar source. This tv will not look as good right next to the fancy OLED at Best Buy but if you get it home and set it up right it will definitely keep up with the OLED’s and cost way less and last longer Oh Ya and it won’t have the BURN IN PROBLEMS. Over all awesome tv for a great price almost as good as the best with less problems and way less in price. Best Led on the market. Enjoy

I originally was setting out to upgrade my Sharp TV which was a 4K panel but did not have the correct inputs to allow for full 4K playback via my 4K dvd player so I ended up with a Samsung 65" UHDTV with high dynamic range, this was purchased online and was not seen in person. After getting the TV home and set up I realized that the "One Connect" box that Samsung uses did not play well with home audio receivers decoding full 4K 7.2 and higher sound content as well as some additional issues. Disappointed I boxed up the Samsung and returned it to the store. I already was planning on purchasing a Sony UHDTV with high dynamic range after reading many reviews from customers but had no idea I would be walking out of the store spending twice as much as I did. I told the salesperson I had did my homework and knew what I wanted. She said "But have you seen Sony's newest model" I said no I have not, but its ok, I know what I want, she said "No, come this way, you need to see these side by side." after standing there staring at four different televisions the drool began to fall from my mouth as I stared at the TV she had mentioned. All I kept saying to her was, WOW and I cant believe how much better the vibrancy of colors and dark rich blacks, it is truly amazing!! After staring for about twenty minutes I realized I wanted to stare a bit more, only this time I wanted it in my house! Yup, I went with this model and have zero regrets!! very happy I did, many compliments have been given and I would absolutely recommend this TV and other Sony products to friends and family. Way to go Sony! I love what you are doing. The packaging, build quality, sound quality, ease of use, features all are just amazing and too much to mention. So if you are thinking about buying this TV and are on the fence about spending the extra cash, trust me when I say it is worth every single penny they are asking!

      Great for Movies and Gaming

I am very pleased with this new TV. I finally made the jump to 4K and chose to also get a TV supported that HDR so as to future proof the set and improve overall picture quality. I purchased it in the 65" size. I primarily purchased the TV for movies as well as to use my Xbox One X for HDR 4K gaming. Needless to say I am very impressed. The motion reduction is incredible and text remains readable even when scrolling quickly. The contrast and black levels of the TV are amazing along with the 4K resolution. If you watch your TV at very wide angles from the center you will notice some image degradation as it is a VA panel not an IPS panel where it looks slightly washed out, but in most circumstances you'd never notice. The sony 900F does a good job upscaling everyday content as well that is not 4K or HDR to improve the picture which is actually noticeable coming from my previous 55" 1080P Samsung smart tv. Set up was very easy. Plugged it in, performed the system update (which may take awhile if you don't have fast internet) and then chose my preferences. Be sure your stand is wide enough, however. It has split legs that are 46" at the widest point and are about 13" long (11.5" or so depth-wise as they are angled). As a side note if you are gaming in 4K and want HDR compatibility you need to go into the settings and under External Inputs it needs to be changed to Enhanced HDMI otherwise you will only get 4K without HDR support. Streaming Netflix and Amazon Prime Video is very easy using the Android TV smart built in applications. Once you sign in you can just click into them later and it will remember your preferences so you can watch with ease. Voice control works decently as it is Google Assistant, but it takes some getting used to. Consider purchasing a soundbar as the built-in speakers are only 5-10 watts each so it does not get very loud. Overall I would highly recommend this TV it is a great deal for the features you are getting without paying the high-end price tag.

After 11 years of owning my previous smart TV, I finally made the plunge to 4K. I stopped at the local Eagan store and had a general idea of what I wanted but was still not sold on which unit to get so I asked for expert opinions. They showed me a few models such as the MU8000 and A8F to name a couple as well as this TV. I watch a lot of movies and game fairly frequently so I wanted something that doesn't burn in like OLED can and handles motion well. Needless to say, I am impressed! The setup was painless. I just turned it on and it asked for my WiFi where it needed to then do a system update (it is an Android TV). This may take awhile, however, as it is a large update of several GB depending on your internet speeds. Then you can set up Google Assistant along with other promotional offers should you choose to, but that can be skipped. Once set up, the TV itself is fantastic. The black levels are very deep and it gets very bright! I have 3 windows in my living room and I still can see the TV set just fine. However, I turned the automatic brightness off in the settings as cloud transitions was enough to adjust the TV and it was a little excessive. Motion is great and you can read everything even if it is a fast scene as it uses the same processor as the A8F with the new X-Motion clarity video processing. If you may notice the TV image quality reduce as you move farther to the sides of the TV at a wide angle. After doing some research online I found that this was due to the TV being a VA panel compared to an IPS panel. The TV is HDR compliant with HDR-10 as well as Dolby Vision after a software update. It does come with a Chromecast built in, so you can use any enabled device to broadcast to the tv if you wish to. Gaming with the TV is great, minimal input lag. However, if you game in 4K you will need to enable HDMI to be enhanced otherwise you may not get the full experience. The two speakers that are built into the TV are small. I needed to get a soundbar with it so I could hear everything clearly particularly when the scene has a wide range of audio normally such as voices and music together. Measure your stand width before you buy the TV. The legs are separated so you will want to make sure the TV has enough room to sit to avoid it tipping over. Overall I am extremely impressed. Well done, Sony.

      Frozen Red Pixels

My house has all Samsung TVs and was hesitant to switch brands. I bought this after returning my 2018 Samsung Q8F because of all the good reviews about this TV cause I wasn't satisfied with Q8F picture quality while watching Live TV. Hooked this TV up and boy was it clearer while watching Live TV from my cable company. Started watching HDR on Netflix. was super clear but TV lacks brightness on HDR. It was on Max brightness and still didn't look bright. Went to go put my remote near the TV and found Frozen Red Pixel in the upper right corner of the tv. So went to Youtube and researched about Frozen Pixels. They advised to do these color tests that could fix the Frozen Pixels sometimes. Did the test for 15 mins and came back and still Red Frozen Pixel was still there. Factory Reset TV and did a Pixel Test and still Red Frozen Pixel was there. Went back to Best Buy to replace it for a new one. Hooked the 2nd replacement up, did the basic initial setup. But before I started playing around with picture settings, went back and did a Pixel Test. Sure enough this replacement ALSO had Frozen Red Pixel but this time it was on the bottom left of screen. So went back to Best Buy and just told them to refund my money and I'll wait to see if anything better comes out during the summer. Very disappointed cause now I am without a 4K tv with all my 4K devices at my house. I would recommend anyone who got this Make/Model to test their pixels. Just go to Youtube on your tv and search for Pixel test and search around the whole TV. I was very surprised both tvs had this same issue. I know its 1 pixel but eventually it will get to be a dead pixel and it could spread later on. Especially spending over $2k for a TV I want it to be flawless. Will not be going back to Sony TVs

Fantastic TV over all of the rest

I am typically not a fan of extended service plans with anything. I have to say though, Best Buy is amazing! We recently had a problem with our 2 year old Samsung TV. Geek Squad came out, tried to fix it and could not. Deemed it defective and to be replaced. They said they were going to provide us with a comparable value replacement to the TV in a week. With that said, I was thinking pricing of our TV today less a lot of depreciation. I called Geek Squad to see what the comparable value was and they said the original full product price you paid two years ago. I asked if they were serious and they said yes. If product is unable to be fixed, their policy under the protection plan is full value replacement. A gift card was created and they overnighted it to us. Drove to two Best Buy stores in our area. One was regular, another Magnolia. Asked several employees their opinions on a new TV. At the top of everyone's list was the Sony X900F. They steered us away from Samsung, LG and the rest. After reviewing the product, seeing it in both stores and receiving our gift card, we went shopping to purchase the X900F. The television is connected to our audio receiver via HDMI ARC. We are able to view HDR content, Dolby Vision content and various apps on the TV by just turning on the component we want to view. TV/receiver automatically tunes to the correct input. Visually at home connected to our components, the picture is the best we have seen on any TV including OLED. Menus are very simple to navigate through and we did not have to make any picture adjustments whatsoever out of the box or to date. We appreciate everything Best Buy has done for us from the extended warranty, Geek Squad, employee recommendations and helping us enjoy this fantastic new Sony X900F TV!

The Sony Bravia 65 inch HD TV was delivered (after a small hiccup in the delivery schedule) and has a super picture as expected for the high price that I paid. The sound quality that I received on that TV is not what I expected. I am glad that I have my own sound system. Sony needs to put some extra effort into that sound related aspect in their higher end line products. The You Tube videos that I watched also makes reference to that problem. Unfortunately, I bought the Sony before I watched the You Tube reviews because I needed a TV because my old TV bit the dust. The Sony is working pretty good so far but I have only had it for a couple of weeks. If you read this review, please be aware of the sound system drawbacks if you don't have a sound bar or some other sound system. I would also like to point out something that may or may not help you in your particular case and this also relates to the sound of the Sony. The tech who installed my TV told me when I turn my sound system on to turn the Sony volume down to zero (0) which I did and it helped me to eliminate some of the distracting background noise/echoes/etc. If you have that problem on your TV try it. What do you have to lose other than a couple of minutes? Again, it may help you and it may not. So I would recommend this TV but with reservations. Best Regards from 65SonyMan

I bought this Sony X900F backlit LED as an upgrade from a previous generation Sony XBR. I have always bought Sony as the quality is so consistent. Unfortunately, for the first time, I was disappointed with this Sony TV. While the TV produces very bright colors the contrast is rather poor due to disappointing black levels. The advertised local dimming does not adequately compensate for the picture brightness so instead of blacks you get dark grey at best in most cases. This is most obvious when watching a movie with bars at the top and bottom of the screen which are nowhere near true black. I know that is a rather short review, but I focused on the main issue. For the money and being a 900 series backlit LED I would expect more from Sony. I have returned the TV, which is the first time I have every returned a Sony TV, and I have purchased dozens in my life. I decided to make the big jump to the OLED which was significantly more expensive but is unparalleled in quality in every way. I am again loving Sony(except for the huge sticker price). As a long time Sony loyal user I would not recommend this TV. To anyone who is willing to spend $2000+ for a high quality TV you will likely be disappointed, as I was.
