Great TV, loses sound randomly after firmware
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this TV to replace an 11-year-old Sony that had served us very well. We were torn between the 850 and the 900 series. We went with the 900 series and I think overall it is a good TV. There have been a few small issues which I will detail below Including a loss of sound repeatedly in our HDMI 1 input. The good: The picture is amazing Android TV built in Airplay/Chromecast built in (you can cast from Oculus 2 easily... see pictures attached) The bad: Remote is NOT back lit The ugly: Sound issues with HDMI port after update ( see below for the work around) I love the picture on this TV. Even more, I love it it has android TV built-in which means we can have Netflix, YouTube, Amazon video, Disney+, virtually any streaming service without having to have a separate chromecast, fire stick, or Roku. For Netflix, it displays content in 4K natively. I had some concerns with casting to this TV from our oculus quest 2, but I was very pleasantly surprised. You just change the input to airplay and the oculus detects it and casts. We occasionally have issues where the casting doesn’t work perfectly, in those instances we restart the TV and the oculus and it generally fixes it. My biggest issue with this TV is after we updated the firmware, my HDMI one input with occasionally lose sound. We have a cable box attached to that input, and when the cable box would go to sleep overnight, the TV will turn on and not have any sound. The only way we were able to get sound, was to unplug and replug the HDMI cable. Doing a quick Internet search, I found this is common with this model of TV dating back to October 2020. To be honest, I found this unacceptable in a $2000 TV. I contacted Sony, and the first level customer support was unable to help me. She read from a script that made no difference whatsoever. I ended up asking for level 2/tier 2 technical support and finally got a resolution. So if you’re losing sound in one of your ports, call the Sony helpline and immediately ask for a tier 2 tech support. They will be able to remotely log into your TV (if it is connected to the Internet and you give them access). There is a series of changes they will need to make but it does fix the issue. They are aware that the firmware has broken the HDMI input for sound and are working on a fix. Currently, my HDMI does not lose sound any longer. And I am reluctant to go in and monkey around with any of the volume settings until there’s another firmware update, Even though I really think the sound could be better. The fact that the remote is not backlit, even though my much cheaper Sony TV had a backlit remote, combined with the loss of sound with a firmware update that is now going on six FULL months WITHOUT being fixed, causes this TV to lose one full star. If I had the money, I would’ve upgraded to the 950 series which does have a backlit remote in a slightly better processor. However for me the additional $400 was not worth it. I think this TV is worth the money. Just know that you’re going to have a bit of a headache when you update the firmware. You will likely have to make a phone call into Sony to get it fixed. Sony, if you’re listening, your company is too good to have a flaw like this that is unresolved for half a year.

Great size for the price!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV with with the hopes of getting a reasonably priced TV that would support 4K @ 120 fps for a PS5. After hooking it up I realized that there were some software issue that Sony hadn't quite worked out. Once a firmware update was released, 4K/120 was working with slight motion blur. I have encountered some issues where the sound will cut out and a hard restart is required to fix it. I've also had the TV turn on by itself a few times. Haven't figured that out yet. The Android interface works great. Streaming 4K over wifi with this TV has never been an issue. Overall, this is a good 4K TV at this size and price point. But with that being said. If you want top tier 4K/120. Spend the extra for a TV that reviews high in that area.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this 75” Sony to upgrade from my 11 year old Sony Bravia 55” which still works flawlessly. It’s a little in the heavy side so 2 ppl is a must. Have it wall mounted with no issues love that all the inputs are easily accessed. Identifies my Sony surround sound receiver easily with Earc. Amazing picture. Even the sound that comes from the TV is pretty good but prefer my Definitive Technology 9000series speakers. I stick with the Sony brand due to the quality and longevity of their products.

Awesome TV for the Value!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tv after buying a new house and let me say, it hasn’t disappointed. It’s perfect for the spot I wanted. This is the biggest tv I have bought to date and also my first Sony, everything else has been Vizio...it was a little intimidating mounting to the wall with the size of it. Thankfully, I had a buddy help me out. The speakers are ok, better than any other flat screen I’ve purchased in the past. HDR is not as bright as just leaving it off, which is the only flaw I can find. Everything else is A++. I stayed up really late the first few nights, after adjusting my settings and I was in awe with how awesome the picture is for my favorite shows. I was going to buy this tv when it was $2,000 and then it just so happened, then it went on sale $1,769. I would recommend the tv to others.

Sony X900H
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv to replace Q60T Samsung ( *never buy samsung horrible customer service , won't stand by their product on warranty ) . The darks are great on this tv and so are the colors . Android Tv is big plus since you can get a lot of apps . Legs are very wide so make sure you measure if you are not mounting on the wall . Also viewing angle bust is when you sit on center , I cant say they are bad from angle , but you can notice is if you switch up right away . If you care about view angles got OLED , LG CX is good choice but for same money you will get 65 inch , also if you want to place soundbar LG will pose and issue if you dont have space .

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a Tv for our family room. This tv will support future gen consoles as well as look great with movies and tv series. The picture is amazing. Q: QuestionDoes it have hdmi2.1
Asked by Rico.
- A:Answer Upon doing a lot of reviews. The 950h WILL NOT HAVE HDMI 2.1 but this model 900H will. This will future proof you if you (like me ) plan to..

Q: QuestionDoes this TV have the X-wide angle viewing on the 75 in. model?
Asked by Scott.
- A:Answer None of the 900H sizes have the X-wide angle filter/layer that the 950H series has, but the 900H does result in having a higher contrast ratio vs the 950H (the X-wide layer reduces overall contast and can cause a rainbow effect in reflictions when the TV is off). I have the 75inch 900H and am perfectly satisfied with the viewing angle; I have loveseats on the side of the room that are at least a 45-55 degree angle and the vieiwing is fine for my family. I'd recomend looking at one in the store to see if it meets your specfic needs. Viewing angle was my largest pre-buy concern until I saw it in person and realized it was totally acceptable.

Asked by Matthew.
- A:Answer Hi Matthew, Thank you so much for your inquiry! These will be supported on HDMI Input 3 and 4. We have already released an update that adds support for eARC(Enhanced Audio Return Channel) and for the 4K 120Hz signal format to allow for PlayStation®️5 compatibility. Q: QuestionWhen is this TV is going to be available Can I pre-ordered it
Asked by Rico.
- A:Answer The release date keeps slipping. As of May 15th, 2020, the forums are reporting dates ranging from June 8th to June 15th. But not for the 75-inch version; only for the other three sizes. The 75 will come later; how much later is not known. The hold-up for all sizes apparently is testing on the ATSC 3.0 digital tuner. Probably the coronavirus has affected manufacturing and distribution, as well.
