Great tv if u don't get a meessed up screen
|Posted .The tv is phenomenal looking and Dolby vision is very good. It gets plenty bright in my darken dungeon of a living room. Being 85 inches really makes a difference even with me sitting away from the TV 13 feet and I'm coming from a 75 inch TV. Unfortunately, The first TV I received had a vertical line going down the TV that was visible to the naked eye even though it didn't seem to effect the picture . Now, before u say it, it isn't the pixels. It the actual screen itself ( see uploaded picture.) So, I sent it back and Best Buy came through with flying colors except for the week wait for my replacement, but its 85 inches and I know they don't have them lying around. Now, I got my replacement TV and it has the same issue with the vertical line going down the screen except its a little less visible unless you are right up on it . So, I'm fuming and now decided enough with dealing with the middle man/ seller Best Buy , after all they are just the seller and aren't the maker, I decided to call Sony and is now dealing with them directly. Maybe, Sony can least tell me if its the way the TV made or send me a better replacement . Once again Best Buy and their people did fine, but I'm just fed up with the wait and the panel lottery and think dealing with Sony , cause I've read where other buyers having Sony TV from other stores not named Best Buy with this issue, may solve this issue finally.

No Regrets at All

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I've had the 85" version for 2 weeks now and still enjoy turning it on every day and sitting there in awe of the picture. I upgraded from a 70" Vizio which was nice, but this TV is in the big leagues. Watching Netflix when its at 2160p is fabulous, and all sports baseball, football and hockey (the ones I am interested in) are incredible. I'm still tweaking the picture, there are a lot of adjustments, but am getting close to what is perfect for me. I was very impressed by the free delivery too. I ordered it at about 4:00 PM on a Friday, and it was in my lower level family room by 9:30 AM the next day, you can't beat that.

Great picture quality
|Posted .This big boy is worth the buy in my option. I have a 75" 4k, 3yr old model. This upgrade is noticeable in size and quality. Especially the black in HDR movies. Also sports look very nice. It's pricey but it's just nearly worth it without feeling you spent too much for a tv.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I am VERY happy with this tv. It has amazing picture quality and pretty decent sound too. The highlight for me however is the Android TV built in. If you are an android/Google user this tvs setup is simple and amazing. You basically log into the tv with your Google account during setup and all your typically viewing apps are logged into as well. Then they are a click away. Even Netflix and Google play have each a dedicated button on the remote. It also has the Google assistant built into the remote with a button. If you are a Google fan you would love this tv hands down.

Excellent picture, but the software is buggy.
|Posted .Owned for 3 months when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5The picture is amazing. I'm a loyal Sony fan, and the picture doesn't disappoint. I paired the TV with a Denon 2.1 soundbar, and it works well. I prefer using it without the IR repeater. My only complaint is the buggy TV software. The TV will sometimes reboot with the Android logo as soon as you turn it on. It appears to happen after I've used the loaded apps. I clear the cashe in these apps regularly and use an external Chromecast as much as possible to minimize the frequency of this issue. The X950G has the same issues from what I've read. I can't speak to the durability of the product, but I hope it lasts like my other Sony products. I do recommend the TV, but just be warned that you'll need to try and manage software issues with cashe clearing and potential resets. I recommend an external chromecast. If it lasts and the issues dont get worse, it's worth it for the picture quality.

Q: QuestionWhat is the width of the stand on the 75" and 85" models of this telvision
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer My 85” is on a 60” console or chest with the TV legs inverted. The width of legs inverted is 48” I think they were 67” wide before being inverted.

Q: QuestionIf you had a choice of the XBR 85X900F or the XBR 65A8F which would you choose? I understand that the 65A8F has the better picture, the size of the 85X900F fits my space better, is the better picture quality worth the downsize?
Asked by Kevin.
- A:Answer I am coming from a Panasonic 65” plasma that I enjoyed for 8 years. If you haven’t had a 65” and size isn’t that important to you I would say get the A8F. But me personally I wanted a 20” upgrade to feel I got my money worth for an upgrade. After receiving this TV I am sure glad I choose the 85” over anything else. It truly feels 3D because of the size. Sports look incredible with 4K cable. Go big or go home!
