Great little alarm clock
Posted .Pros: Small, easy setup, retractable iPhone/iPod dock, Stereo, loud. Cons: No iPhone 4 dock adapter and like other docks, it doesn't allow for connecting with a case (or at least my rubber speck case). If you plan to connect an iPhone 4, you need to remove the adapter plates. I've only had this for a few days but already love it. My only gripe would be that i can't just pop my iPhone 4 on the dock. The adapter plates or only for 3G and 3Gs and iPods. Overall though, the sound is excellent, flawless FM, and it's pretty small allowing more room on my night stand.

Too many cons
Posted .I have been using this unit for about 18 months, and am finally giving up and searching for something else. The pros: +Small footprint for nightstand use +2/5/7 day alarm options The cons... -The display at it's lowest setting is stunningly bright -- the planes flying over my house sometime mistake it for a runway light. -The volume is in preset increments. Without fail, the desired volume will always be between the presets. -The sheer quantity and placement of all the buttons require you be moderately awake to make your selection. Swatting it with closed eyes may hit snooze, alarm reset, alarm off, or may just launch the unit to the floor. -The slide-out iPod dock is not very solid; extreme care must be taken to avoid snapping it off.

Compatibility issues
Posted .I got this product in mid July as a gift to my husband. On the SONY website it says it is compatible with iPod 5th generation, which is what we have. When he tried to connect our iPod, we realized it did not fit. I called SONY customer service and they said that I need to buy separately a universal adapter from APPLE. Why does SONY advertise compatibility, if the customer needs to buy extra accessories to connect the iPod? At the same time I had posted my iPod question to a forum, where some other SONY customer service representative responded and said that a universal dock comes in the box. There was none in our box (closed box purchase)! I called back SONY to request to have the universal dock adapter sent to us, only to hear that since 45 days have gone by since the purchase they cannot send one to me and that I should have reported it within 30 days!! What a bummer!! I never expected such "customer service" from SONY.

Great but not perfect
Posted .i love it. the audio is the best i have ever experienced. all of the buttons are in great places they work so good i love the automatic time set. the only thing i have had a problem is with the brightness. if you are some one who will not have a problem with a bright screen while you are trying to sleep then get it otherwise plan to put a t shirt over the display do to how bright it is. i would recomend it to a friend but just warn them about the display.

very good alarm clock for the price
Posted .I got it since my wife wanted to wake up to the sounds of nature. I initially planned to get the Peaceful progression clock but the reviews weren't too great. Then I saw this one, since I was a SONY I thought there will be a minimum level of quality and the reviews were good. I was not disappointed. It is a solid product that does all that it has advertised. the sound quality is decent, but it won't replace a good Ipod speaker system. the dual alarms are very easy to setup, and it has battery backup which is very helpful as I inadvertently plug it out many times.

Much better than I expected
Posted .Much better than I expected. It works great with either my iPod or iPhone. The remote works flawlessly for navigating menus. It even recharges your device while it's still in the cradle. It comes with multiple docking station adapters to accommodate current and previous generation iPods/iPhones. The docking stations retracts into the base when you don't need it. There's a lot of button pressing you need to do to get it working initially but after that, setting the alarms or sleep function is a snap.

Good, but too bright
Posted .I also didn't like that the light was too bright for sleeping. The clock worked well, and I liked the dock. The buttons on the back, and the overall layout was a little too complicated for me--I like my alarm clocks simple so that I don't mess up. With iPhone 3GS, you always get a message that the device is not made for it and ask you if you want to use airplane mode. I clicked no, and it seemed to work OK.

Love this clock so much...
Posted .... this is the second one I've bought. One for the bedroom, one for the bathroom, and I'm thinking about a third for the kitchen. Love its compact size; not having to reset it after power interruption or even for daylight saving time; the adjustable brightness of display; and the sound quality is pretty impressive for such a small radio. Best of all is being to plug my iPod into it. I download podcasts and sometimes don't have enough time to listen to all of them, so I like being able to listen to them while I get ready in the a.m. or just work around the house.
