Amazing Camera
Posted .I have bought my Sony Bloggie Touch, thinking, "This will definitely not work". When I first turned on this camera, it displayed an HD version of the objects in front of me. You are able to take pictures and videos. Sadly, there is no flash. Everything is good, but the record button and the screen are WAY too sensetive. if you turn it upside down, sideways, or right-side up, the screen will turn! Also, like the Flip, there is a retractable USB at the bottom. Overall, it is a really good camera.

It works fine for me!
Posted .My Bloggie is great. There are few things I dislike about it. The fact that it doesn't have a flash sucks and the zoom is a little weak, but it works primarily well. I take mostly outdoor shots and it does really well. I recently took it to Jazz Fest in New Orleans and it performed well. There was little blur zoomed and it took great motion shots. I'll probably be upgrading soon and give this one to my younger sister, but now it meets my needs fine.

For an ultra compact HD recorder, not bad
Posted .I bought this because it was small, had the Sony brand and would be easy to use. It worked exactly as I thought it would. If you are shooting daytime photos (snapshots) and videos, it works flawlessly. The pictures and videos are crisp and clear at the highest resolution and downloading is easy. If you want flexibility (like low-light, flash, multiple exposure settings), then this is not the choice for you. If you want something to carry in your pocket or purse in order to take high-quality snapshots and videos in the daytime, it's perfect.

A Great HD All Around Camera and Video
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI shopped and shopped and shopped. originally looking for a point and shoot camera but then I stumbled onto the Sony Display and took a look at the Bloggie Touch - The first thing I noticed really, was the ability to take 12.8MegaPixel still shots. I was looking for a point and shoot with a high MP capability - But this was MORE it has the ability to point and shoot not only 720p HD video it can also do real HD at 1080p - I was impressed at this point and had decided to make my purchase Being a gadget geek for many many moons I decided I would do my research first and so I left the store and made my way to several review websites and search for all the information I could find regarding the Sony Bloggie Touch - Sure enough I stumbled upon 1 particular issue - That being a ticking/clicking sound when recrording video - The information about this seemed to suggest that the issue was "hit or miss". Not all the devices exhibited the issue. So I decided to go back to the store the next day and pick up this awesome little Sony Bloggie Touch. Unfortunately the device was not longer on sale. The day before it was 169.99 and the next day it was 199.99. I nearly walked out, but the sale rep. said that they might be able to do a price match. At that time the bestbuy.com website still had it onsale for 161.99. So that is the price I paid. Best Buy definitely does their best to make sure their customers don't walk out empy handed. As fate would have it, I would end up with a device that had the ticking/clicking sound during the recording of video. I upgraded the firmware for the device and that seemed to lessen the noise but it was still present. Interestingly enough the ticking/clicking noise would disappear any time I touched the touchscreen. My guess is some devices weren't properly assembled and grounded during production. I spent an hour working with Sony Support and decided to return to BestBuy for an exchange. BestBuy didn't disappoint - I explained the issue they confirmed the issue and exchanged my ticking/clicking Sony Bloggie Touch for a brand new one. The new one works as expected with no ticking/clicking noise. A very good small device with lots of power. The software that comes with the device is more or less a library manager software - If you want to do editing of movies or picrures I recommend the Windows Live Movie Maker (free) - All in all - If you're looking at this device to purchase - I would recommend it. If you end up with one exhibiting the ticking/clicking noise, exchange it for a new one.

Great buy! Great picture quality, easy to use.
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThe picture and video quality is excellent and the camera is easy to use. I love that you plug it directly into your computer to open the files - no cord to lose or add to the collection! And the rechargable battery is great, although videos use a lot of juice! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is for the Bloggie software. If you download your pictures and videos into it, it's not easy to transfer them into another folder on your computer. The actual image files are buried deep in your system. They also do not explain how to change the folder names, and if you delete a picture (for example #88 of 150), the software takes you back to the top of the queue and you have to scroll down to where you left off. It advertises instant sharing with friends and Facebook, but your friends have to accept an invitation to use the Sony software, and my friends don't want to be on Sony's email list. On the other hand, if this is the only picture software you have, it's okay for making albums and storage. I will continue to use this excellent camera, but will not use the software that comes with it.

Very decent for the price!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI've had this now for over a month, holding my review till I've really played with it. Positives: -decent night shot quality. My biggest fear was low light due to it not having a flash for video, but it is amazing for what it is not too grainey but definitely surprising. - compact -great battery life -works with ( XXpod) chargers -photo stills can be taken while video is being taken. -Photos are very clear -Touch focus -quick to turn on. -ease of use -software is on the actual device***!! no CDs ! -works with my ps3 instantly Con: -USB popup jack is now hard to push down and pop up. -no LED Flash for night snapshots -no included hdmi dongle or converter. -unless you own an a smart phone with USB charger u need a computer. -to beautiful to use without a case and scratch. -taking videos vertically stay vertical like an (xmart)-phone and I didn't know that until the video was already taken and saved. So, make sure that the camera is horizontal or vertical to your preference before you shoot video. Sony did a great job with this camera. It was easy enough for me to hand to a stranger to take videos and photos. Its a great little handy cam and during out door shooting it's smooth, crystal clear and almost,(almost), professional grade.

Not Bad for the Price or Category
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAfter having a Flip 1st gen and a Kodak Play Full (See review here on BestBuy.com), I went with the Sony Bloggie Touch. I didn't care too much for the touch screen, but noticed it had a slightly bigger/better image sensor (better video). The video isn't grainy like some of the other cameras, but does have a stain-glass window look, bad codec? Also the Camera was 720p out of the box, not 1080p as advertised. After fixing that, I actually noticed it looked better at 720p-60fps than 1080p-30fps. I wish 1080p-60fps was an option, but oh well. I don't like how the Memory and battery are internal, but I'll get over it. Also not LED Flash or light on the front. Packaging was nice, but no thin cloth case cover is included. The battery and video time left indicator are nice, as well as the very large screen and loud speaker. I like the menu system and feel of the camera too. Last thing is make sure to keep the camera sideways otherwise the video format looks like a cell phone (tall and skinny, not 16x9), bad design and you can't turn this off.
Q: Questionis it true that this camara is not compatible with a mac
Asked by rob.
- A:Answer It wasn't when the Bloggie first came out, but now, a Bloggie user can Go directly to the Sony.com web site to the support section and click on it and download the driver/software. After any bloggie user does that, the Mac os x (10.5 or 10.6 or later)+(two different downloads for 10.5 or 10.6)and iMovie11 Can use it fully on the Mac, I hope this helps all of you with Macs, God Bless :-)

Q: QuestionIs there a pause button? When you push to record, and just want to pause that same video file, is there an easy pause button, or when you do push a button, do you stop that file and then create a new file when you push it again?
Asked by KAR.
- A:Answer No pause button. Just creates a new video file. You will need to combine the clips in post-production.

Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer At 1920x1080 12MP Resolution Recording time is 80 Minutes (1 Hour 20 Minutes) AT 1280x720 6MP Resolution Recording time is 160 Minutes (2 Hours 40 Minutes) At 1280x720 4MP Resolution Recording time is 240 Minutes (4 Hours) I have tested and confirmed the 80 Minute Time Limit on the 12MP resolution - With Plenty of Battery Power Left at the end of the recording.

Q: QuestionHow is the sound quality?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It depends on how discerning you are. The highs and lows are lost like with most cameras in this price range. The sound quality in the mid-range isn't bad. Being that it's a "bloggie", it actually picks up voices real well, nice and crystal clear. I would not doubt if the mids are boosted just to catch voice better. However, I recorded a clip of my 5.1 surround sound system playing music. Listening to the playback on headphones, there's noticeable loss in audio quality in the highs and lows.

Q: QuestionCan i take a photo while recording a video?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, while the video is recording, if you press the shutter button (it's a different button than the video record button), it'll take a picture. But, what you're doing is taking a screen capture of the video which is actually worse in quality than taking a regular picture. Meaning, if you're recording a 1280x720 video and you press the shutter button, you're taking a screen capture that's 1280x720. But if you're not recording a video at the moment, your picture will be 3840x2160 (12.8 megapixels).
