Sony - BRAVIA 46" 1080p Rear-Projection LCD HDTV

I originally purchased a Zenith (made by LG) 44" projection TV back in 2005. Unfortunately, it had numerous service issues. Thankfully, I had purchased Best Buys Extended Warranty. After needing a second repair that would almost cost what I paid for the TV, Best Buy said that they would give me my money back that I paid for the TV and to pick a new one to replace it. So this is where the story begins. I paid $1600 for the Zenith and so this was the dollar amount that I began looking for TVs at. I did quite a bit of research and was about to purchase a 50" Samsung. It was a gorgeous screen, but I couldn't see paying another $400. Well, as luck would have it, this Sony went on sale and I was able to get it for $1450. With an extended warranty, I only ended up $90 out of pocket, so my choice was made. And I am very happy with my choice. The TV was delivered two (2) days ago and I was immediately impressed with the picture. I should mention that no store within 100 miles of me had this TV yet for me to view. So, I was a little apprehensive about my purchase. I am glad to say that I am VERY happy with this TV. The images are very bright and my DiSH HDTV is awesome! The TV is extremely intelligent also selecting the perfect view for what is being broadcast. I used to have to tell the Zenith to "stretch" or "zoom" the image, not the Sony XBR. All in all, this TV is VERY nice. I can't tell you about the quality yet, as I have only had the TV for a couple of days. However, I have a Sony 27" WEGA that has lasted five years and is still going strong. So, I anticipate that this TV will perform well over the years. The only downside I have with this TV is that there is no PC input. I do think that Sony was a bit short-sighted when they decided not to include a DVI-PC input. I sometimes rent movies via the internet and connect my laptop to the TV. Well, now I will have to figure out another method of doing this. If you must have a PC input, think carefully how you will do it, as there is no VGA input. That is why I am rating this with only 4-Stars. I would have given it 5-Stars had the PC support been included. In conclusion, this television is well worth the money. If you can do without the PC input, you will NOT be disappointed!!!

I was on the hunt for a new HDTV to replace my projector screen setup. I narrowed it down to either the 46" or 50" E-series Sony Bravia LCD Projection TVs. When I inquired about both I was told that the wait would be 2 weeks for delivery. I was frustrated seeing as I wanted the TV right then and there. The representatives at BestBuy spent an hour trying to get me to buy other models but I just didn't budge. I ordered the 46" Bravia and waited the two weeks and got exactly what I wanted. I was not dissapointed one bit and was glad I was patient. This TV is an awesome choice for the price. I got mine at $1169.99 when it usually goes for $1299.99+ so I got a good deal too. The 1080p picture is amazing and is put to great use if you're playing xbox 360 or ps3, or if you have a setup for BluRay or HD movies. It also looks great watching HD channels from your cable provider, but the standard TV channels look like garbage. Do not buy an HDTV if you do not intend to use it along with High Definition equipment. This model has alot of great features and is easy to control. The things I didn't like about this TV is that there isn't enough HDMI ports. There is only 2, and one has to be used if you want to hookup your PC to it. Which by the way also requires you to buy a DVI to HDMI wire to make the connection. I also didn't like the fact that when I connected my surround sound settup to the TV the sound from the TV speakers get canceled out when you switch your audio output to External Speakers which is kind of lame. Overall I recommend this TV. I do not regret the purchase and look forward to owning it the rest of my days.

I purchased this TV for $999.99 at my local bestbuy. What a deal! You can't find another 1080p hdtv from a name brand company for this price. The picture quality is AMAZING and is great for watching football in HD or playing video games. This is the perfect living room television for anybody. Would highly recommend this TV to anybody looking for a serious TV, from a serious company, for a seriously low price.

I did a lot of research before purchasing the Sony Bravia. I wanted a rear projection television because I thought you could get the same picture quality for a much lower price. I do like the TV for HD movies and regular programming, but when watching HD sporting events there is a lot of motion blur even when using a HDMI cable. If you are a huge sports fan that likes HD sports, you may want to consider a DLP television. If you are going to watch more than sports on this TV, then you will be very happy with this TV, especially for the price.

We bought this TV in October and we couldn't love it more. The picture is outstanding. The only con we could possibly think of was that it takes approxiamately 30-45 seconds for the full, bright picture to warm up. We did our research comparing LCD's and Projections and found that it was a much more afforadable option for the same quality.

I have had this TV a few days and it is awesome. Great buy for the money. Best Buy had it on sale for 1199. Couldn't beat it. If you like sports in HD this is the way to go. Put this with DIRECTV HD, you'll tell yourself, Man I have been missing out. Would recommend this product!

Our family is extremely happy about the picture quality, now we all watch TV together since it is the best TV in the house. Perfect TV to watch all the foot ball games that`s on right now. We also were impressed about the friendly and knowledgeable sales people at Best Buy.

We bought the tv yesterday and can't stop using it. The sound is great and the picture stuns. We play our PS3 on it and it is phenominal looking. Tis tv is one of the best invesments you'll make. The price is practically unbeatable too. Trust me this is a great TV>
