Great Price
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendPurchased this TV to replace our 40" Bravia lost in a lightning storm. The price was around the same as our 40" we purchased 2 years ago. Purchased it for the size, Video Quality, and Bravia Sync. the lower refresh rate is fine. I wasn't really worried about the quality since our old TV had the same refresh rate and it had a great picture. Overall Picture quality is great on movies and games. We play our PS3 and XBox 360 on this and video latency is not noticeable at all. One feature I did not expect is the USB on the side of the TV. I found out that I can connect a Flash Drive or USB HDD to display Pictures and Movies. I tried this out and it works great as long as you encode your videos properly. I will seldom use the feature, but its great as another option to view our videos. The only disappointment I have is with the Audio. The speakers face the rear of the TV and bounce off the wall. Certain sound ranges sometimes cause the case of the TV to vibrate which makes me cringe. Considering getting a Bravia Sync compatible audio system, but for anyone who expects to use the TV without an external audio system will be disappointed.

Better than Decent (wanted to give it 4.5 stars)
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThe picture quality is excellent at 1080p with fantastic color and great customization for picture quality (brightness, tint, sharpness, etc). Unfortunately, the sound quality leaves something to be desired. With its awkward downward-firing speakers, it's sometimes difficult to hear at low-to-mid-range volumes (which may be compounded by the almost indiscernible differece in volume between about 20 and 30). The sound isn't distorted beyond comprehension by any means; it's more of a minor inconvenience that can be circumvented via receiver and external speakers. To put it in perspective, our 3-year-old Samsung 52-inch LCD has better sound but is our "main" TV and is hooked up to the home theater. As a "secondary" TV used only for viewing DirecTV, this set is more than adequate (I don't need movie theater quality sound when I'm watching Top Chef). The features are decent, but I was not really concerned with them when buying the TV. Most of the negative things people have to say about the features (eg, number of HDMI inputs, optical out, SD card slot, etc) won't be missed by 90% of consumers. The remote is a typical Sony remote with an intuitive layout (though we don't use it much in lieu of our universal remote). And it's Energy Star qualified so you can feel good about yourself while you watch TV and don't have to worry about that corner of your living room being 15 degrees hotter than the rest of the room. Overall, I would say if you're in the market for an LCD TV with a decent picture, fair sound, a good aesthetic, and a great price and without all the bells and whistles (WiFi, 3d, etc), this would be a fantastic purchase.

Really happy with Sony LCD TVs
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI own several flat-screen TVs, including a top-of-line Pioneer Elite, which is still the tops, two Sony Bravias (one being a high-end LCD/LED), and a NuVIsion TV. I had owned two Samsung flat screen TVs, both of which went bad after less than 4 years, so I opted for a Sony last time I had to replace it. This particular TV is one that I bought for my mom, who lives in NJ, and I had it shipped to her. I wanted to make sure that I was buying her something reliable since she is over 80 and wouldn't easily be able to deal with a lemon. So Best Buy delivered her this new TV and a new Blu-Ray Sony player and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. I was prepared to call the Geek Squad once it had arrived, but the delivery guys set it all up for her and connected it to her cable box and she is really happy with it -- (this a lady that is not easily happy with things.) I was so pleased with this Best Buy experience and couldn't be happier than I am with my own and her Sony TVs. They are just a better product and, to my mind, worth paying a little more. The picture is clear, the sound is adequate even without external speakers.

Let's decorate your house with the Sony !!!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought this LCD 4 weeks ago. Overall, I satisfy with this purchase in term of price and picture quality. It is a really great deal to have a nice 46 inches brand TV with $ 809. We love the TV not only about the brand but also about the TV's reality. You definitely fall in love with the TV if you watch HD channels. If you decide to buy the 120Hz, I dont think that would be a great idea because the 60 Hz is good enough. The fact is that there is no big different between the 120 Hz and 60 Hz if you compare those two carefully. The picture quality is excellent for the HD channels and games. However, you may see a little blur as you watch non-HD channels. Also, a stronger base is needed to keep the TV stand firmly. Again, I love the TV so much.

For the price-GREAT!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this exact SONY in June, at the time it was on sale for $800-so I was totally excited because it was exactly what I wanted: 46", LCD, HD,1080p. You MUST get an HDMI cable-DO NOT use the standard component cables that come w/ your cable or satellite provider. I have an HD cable box & was using the cables they provided at first & I was so disappointed w/ the TV but once I got the Monster HDMI cable it was a COMPLETE difference. The sound & picture immediately was better. I only watch channels in HD & the picture is GREAT. The sound isn't outstanding but then again I'm the type of person that wants to have the movie theater experience in my home so I can live with it until I get my Bose Home Theater system. There's a few setting options where you can choose how bright, how colorful, warm or cool, vibrant, sharp you want your picture. I don't really use the Ambient Light setting though. But overall I think it's worth the price. I don't know if I'm a lifelong Sony customer though-I have problems w/ commitment. =)

Best TV for the price, HANDS DOWN
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendListen... If you are buying this TV, I'm sure you're on a budget. Otherwise you would have over spent and purchased a TV capable of producing images that exceed what most cable boxes, sat. boxes, and even blu-rays can produce... So when I speak about this TV, I'm coming from a 'what do I get for $799' point of view, and the answer is... A great TV. The TV has all the essentials, 4 hdmi, 100k contrast, 2.0 usb, pc in, etc. etc. The picture is as perfect as a 60hz tv can get. Additionally, since Sony is a bit 'in love' with 24p representation, their TVs tend to handle this awkward (because it is not divisible by 60) frames per second rate. Honestly, the movie 'Star Trek' looked so darn good on this TV it looked better than any 240hz tv I've ever seen. The sound sucks, but you don't purchase a TV for the sound. Only one flaw: The stand is ridiculously flimsy, so screw those screws in TIGHT!

2 thumbs up!!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendBought this in exchange of an LG 42 inch LCD(Was nothing wrong with LG). Just decided I needed a bigger size TV, so went back to the store. Sony 46 inch caught my eye right away, the only confusion in mind was to whether I should spend about $130 more and get a 120 Hz model. After buying 60 Hz, I would say spending that much more for that model is not worth it because the overall quality of this model is Excellent. The picture quality is very good and the sound is good. Overall, a smart buy for any use.

New Sony Series HDTV's Impresses
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is a great tv.. easy setup out of the box, plug and play. With the Bravia sync you don't have to press a million buttons to go from tv over to your blu-ray DVD. Just turn on your Blu-ray and the Bravia sync will auto tune to the DVD. Very helpful for those who don't like messing with all the buttons. This TV offers 4 HDMI connections which is best way to view anything in HD.. as well as optical. This is worth every penny.. and you won't be upset you bought it. Sure a Sony costs a little more than an off brand; but you get what you pay for. This is a great hdtv, and is a part of the new sony series. This tv is replacing the Sony BRavia S Model: KDL-46S504 (older model) which the review above mine (mdhaman) was talking about.. since this model just came out last week; and he wrote the 1yr. warranty had expired.

Q: QuestionIF THIS TV IS MOUNTED ON THE WALL, HOW WOULD THE ADDITIONAL INPUT FIT., HOW WOULD THE ADDITIONAL INPUT FIT. EXAMPLE WII, CABLE CONNECTION VCR DVD
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Depending on the wall mount that is used there can be a difference in the distance between the wall mount and the video inputs. If a wall mount is used that does not provide adequate room to plug in devices on the back of the TV, there is also inputs on the side of the TV as well. For more details on this please see page 8 of the Owners Manual which can be found here:http://www.docs.sony.com/release/KDL32EX400.pdf

Q: QuestionWall MountDoes this TV come with a wall mount?? If not where can I get one that will be compatible with the TV
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, Sathed you are correct - the TV does not come with a wall mount. The Sony wall mount for this TV is model SU-WL500. For a suitable wall mount from another manufacturer make sure it's VESA standard.
