musicians should leave the phone in the gig bag
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Smartphones do everything; but recording your band in a gig or for rehearsal requires something mounted on a tripod which can be done by attaching to standard camera tripod stands . 1 compromise you have one fixed 28mm wide angle focal length but stand this in the right place and the whole band is in the cameras viewfinder. HD quality video and stereo are finally in one affordable unit If you have a band , need to post for self promotion on social media ,or even of you teach or practice and need an idea of how well you perform this camera / audio recorded does it ( I won't tell you to pirate live concerts but if you are close enough Your video will get the most hits for sound and image) nuff said

good device for practice sessions
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the audio quality wasn't high enough for demo recording. Wish we could of messed with one in the store before we bought it. We special ordered to try it out, ended up returning it. over all it did what sony said it would, as did best buy. the worst feature was the mp4 format, video recordings need converting to be put on disc. a good little camera for non professional use. was very pleased with best buy! thank you

Q: QuestionLooking for a small, unobtrusive camcorder to record an upcoming wedding. Is this viable for that purpose. I'm not looking to record a band session which is what this seems to be designed for. Does this have zoom in/out capability? Thank you.
Asked by ResQme.
- A:Answer Hi ResQme, this camera doesn't have zoom functionality. If you're looking for compact size camcorder but with outstanding zoom features and can record dazzling videos, kindly check out the models below. - HDR-PJ670 - FDR-AX53 - HDR-CX675 I hope this helps! Dave

Q: QuestionCan the HDRMV1 do Automatic Gain Control on the audio? I'd be interested in using this to record my own band's live performances. And can't be fiddling with manual levels while playing.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi, yes, the camera has a limiter to control audio recording. We recommend lowering the audio recording level in advance before recording loud sounds. Thanks_Mitch
