Great System!
Posted .The PS3, very good system! I've had my system for 4 months now as of this Review and I've enjoyed my time using it, before i continue I just want to say that I haven't had the opportunity to use the PS3 as a bluray player my main and only use is to play games, an occasionally watch videos. From time to time I do watch netflix on PS3 setup was very easy, the first time I started using netflix it was kinda confusing because I didn't really know what the controls where to navigate when you're watching a video and at times the interface gets very slow and laggy what I don't understand is why don't they have netflix built-in like the Xbox360 anyways onto gaming, the first game I've played was God of War 3 awesome! awesome game and a must play for any Playstation 3 owner. Also it is a must that you have an HDMI cable to get the best quality of your PS3, I realized with the AV cables I could no longer stand looking on the PS3 interface. The PS3 also has some very unique features like Playstation Home & Life with Playstation, home is where you're this SIM like character and you can customize yourself... kinda like The Sims for the PC but not as great, at first it seem cool but after a while you realized not a lot of people go on there, not a lot of people participate within Home, people still do but it'd be a lot more fun with more people, its one of the features I realized that isn't being used. Life with Playstation I love, when you start it up it shows you a 3D image of the earth where you can move from one continent to another and cities within to view current news if available they also provide additional features that are cool which I won't discuss because some of them need updating. Its also a great multimedia player for music and videos (DVDs) as I've said I never used it to watch a bluray before I've never actually never watched a blu-ray movie, I've seen blu-ray in stores just never took the liberty to. Price is great, functionality is ok the menu get kinda slow at times especially during internet connection, performance is ok Graphics are great! Overall good system if I had to choose to get an PS3 or XBOX I would have a hard time choosing even though I wont get into too much detail with that. Recently Sony came out with a new feature for the PS3, before I get into that I just want to say I love that on the PS3 you have free multiplayer and its not bad, worst case scenario I get either kicked out due to server failure this is from playing modern warefare a lot but its not often I do hate that during Special Ops and Modern Warfare 2 feature during a 2 person Co-op the connection lags soooooo badly I have no idea why it just sucks back to the new feature Sony announced. This new feature is called playstation plus I say get if you've heard about it because you will get your monies worth but a brief description; with playstation plus you get discounts, free games (minis, full games) ability to automatically download updates (for games, system update..etc.) get invited to Open betas, download demos and lots more.... Again great system if your into gaming get it, if you only plan on buying this to play Blu-ray get a blu-ray player their are tons out there. Regardless of the bad things I've said you can't go wrong you'll love it and you'll hate it. Also please if you play FPS or driving games I recommend you getting a pair of Real Triggerz, this brings me to another issue the PS3 controller very good, its lightweight, and built in battery that's great but the back buttons omg ask anybody; what's one thing you hate about your controller you'll get the same answer everytime. Also by now I kinda regret that I bought my PS3 when I did I was glad at the time because I was happy I actually found one to buy I found out days later when I purchased mine they will be releasing new PS3 with a 45nm die processor mine is a 90nm processor to basically put it my 90nm will consume more heat than the 45nm (nanometers) There still so much I want to say but I', too tired. Sorry get the PS3 also feel free to add me : mos1wanted sorry if its too confusing I just wrote my thoughts, and while I thought of something else I wrote it down so it might seem kinda out placed but w.e thanks for reading. Oh wow sorry but I just wanted to make a comment about the browser, great browser you can pretty much view any website like you do on a regular computer it also has flash built in so you can watch youtube videos.

Posted .note-first before reading the review im not bashing on the xbox 360 at all because you can think im a ps3 fanboy but im not so this review is what i think of the Ps3 and what can it give you that the xbox 360 cant" "the ps3 slim never over heats on me and isnt noisy at all, the games for the ps3 are just getting better as they come but MGS4 will always be at top but the BEST upcoming games for the ps3 is heavy rain uncharted 2 & GOW 3 and other games too n ps3 will give best performance cuz its reliable n gives good graphics no matter what, the price overall is amazing yea the xbox 360 elite is the same price but ps3 gives u way more blue ray free online rechargeable control n the games you can say xbox has way better games like halo gears of war fable n mass effect but in reality they are equal but hey ps3 has mgs4 heavy rain little big planet god of war uncharted and killzone now i cant say their equal now because i name more games for the ps3 than the xbox 360 but the downside of the ps3 is that online isnt that good but hey do u need online to be fancy if u just go online to play with other gamers the ps3 gives you the same online experience yea xbox has netflix so wat you still can rent movies online on the PSN (playstation network) so ps3 slim gives you great game experience like the xbox 360 but the wats inside the systems beats the xbox 360 in a long run, the xbox comes with a headset the system n a controller n they took out the hdmi cable way to disappoint me n the ps3 comes with wifi blue ray n rechargeable contollers but the downside of it once the contoller is completey dead that it doesnt want to recharge anymore you have to buy a new one but you will save more money on a ps3 than a xbox 360 but overall he ps3 is really great in different ways but if i dont convince you of choosing the ps3 slim over the the xbox 360 elite look at the reviews of the xbox 360 n the ps3 slim would u rather have great online experience that charges you 50 dollars and could easliy breaks down on you while playing it for a long time or would u rather play online free and bascally never have to worry for the system to break down while playing it for a long time its ur money so you choose.

Best console Ive had!
Posted .The best console I have ever had, I have the nintendo 64, wii, had the ps2 and xbox360 and out of all of them this was the best, ofcourse the nintendo 64 was classic 90's though! This console comes with a large selection of games from all different gemres, unlike the xbox360 that has only a few real big hits and expensive! You can play good racing games for a change in a whole different way using the motion movements that are highly accurate( if you want)! If your parents dont let you get mature games thats not a problem like the xbox360, you can still get uncharted 2, mag, infamous, and other fighting and racing games! The ps3 controllers are very comfortable, i actually like them better than my xbox360's bulky controller, they have motion capabilities and way better triggers with resistance to them! the controllers charge fast and you can play and charge, the controllers battery lasts for a long time before even reaching the last bar. Online is free and will stay free, later in 2010 they might make a premium card for more experience but its not required! The ps3 doesnt have a bulky battery cell either, not like that brick that we had with the xbox360! The only thing ill miss with the xbox360 is the game left 4 dead 2 which ill get for the pc which is better anyway! I DID NOT LIKE XBOX LIVE! I hope this helps! Your consumer shooterman13

THE BEST PS# EVER!!!!
Posted .This system is an amazing system to have. Its not only for games but for media, such as blu-ray movies, dvds, music, pictures, and even comes with a full internet browser. and speaking of internet, you dont have to pay for it, its completly free for the online play. which you have the option to connect to through a ethernet cable or through the built-in wireless. and just to be clear on this topic, people who say that "i might over heat" the possiblity of it doing so is still slim, due to the systems 9mm fan with 17 blades on it. but i gave you guys my over veiw of the new ps3 slim, and im just gonna say PS3 all the way.

2 thums Up and away up.
Posted .I saw the New PS3 Slim online and was taking smack about it to my friends how it looked. I mean I only saw it online did see fiscally. Let me tell you! I take it all back…first you have to see it for yourself. The new PS3 slim is all that “tight” it’s small 11” X 12” it doesn’t have the shiny body anymore only on the front where the disc goes and the symbol PS3 on top. I can only say that I love it and highly recommended. If you have the old PS3 sell that thing and get the new ps3 slim...trust me...I did. I sold my 40 GB PS3.

PS3 vs. 360 vs. Wii? But PS3 Does It all!
Posted .PS3 vs. 360 vs. Wii? All are good, but the PS3 Just Does is all. When you decide to purchase a gaming system there are many factors that come into play. I will try to emphasize the PS3’s strong points and it weakness’s here for you, so that you can make an informed decision. What does the PS3 do that the others don’t? Well… it’s more like “What don’t the others do that the PS3 does”. Xbox 360 – A great gaming system with nothing to put it down for, except it doesn’t have the built in Wifi or Blu-ray player. It does in some aspects offer better game play, but only an extreme gamer would be able to explain why as I have not noticed a difference. The Game selection is better for the 360, but this is a matter of opinion and as time goes on it is less of an issue since most games are released on multiple platforms now. Nintendo Wii – A favorite for families, seniors and well just about everyone. I have the Wii sitting right next to the PS3, and it gets just as much play. It offers very easy operation, Game play and interactivity for the users. It however does not offer all the entertainment integration that the PS3 and 360 do, so it is strictly a gaming system. It has a great selection of games and now even fitness programs for all ages and skill levels. It truly is a little titan of a machine. Actually, the more I think about it the Wii is nothing like either system except that it plays games, so let’s just remove it from the rest of this little comparison. PS3 – 120gb vs. 250gb Hard Drive? I personally don’t store much on my hard drives as most of what I want is either located on my Home Network HD or on discs, so I opted for the 120gig when I purchased my newest unit. Let me say that I have about 20 CD’s copied onto my older 40gig model, all the saved games and profiles for 6 people and still haven’t used but about 2% of the available space. If you plan on downloading movies to the PS3 I’d say to get the 250gb version, but keep in mind that you like so many others end up delete things because you don’t need or use them any longer. The Hard Drives are so ridiculously easy to replace on a PS3 that if you do end up needing more storage you can upgrade to something larger than the 250. Heck… by the time most of you would need an upgraded HD, the 500gb hard drives available now will be the smallest most affordable units out and most likely less than what the added cost the 250gb unit was in the fist place. Ok, I guess I didn’t mention any of the PS3 weakness’s… because I honestly can’t think of any. I’m not just bias to the PS3, I actually was a diehard 360 fan until the HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray was settled and I broke down and bought a PS3. Guess I have to admit that I was wrong on that argument? If I would have opened my eyes and seen everything that the PS3 does and how well it actually does it, I probably wouldn’t have gone the way of the 360 the first time. But then again I do love to play Halo. Just a note here for all that may still doubt purchasing the PS3, check craigslist or any other for sale site/paper/publication and you will find a fair amount of 360’s for sale or trade for a PS3, and for a fraction of the price that a Used PS3 is going for. I still see used PS3 going for $300 in my area, and if you don’t jump on it right away you’ll have missed the opportunity. Wrapping it up – If you want your gaming system to do High Def movies, Stream with your PC, Play music, have wifi built in, offer great game play and all for a fraction of the cost of what buying the equivalent equipment separately would be, the PS3 is a perfect choice. Oh, and let us not forget… NO FEE for online Gaming, as in 100% FREE!!! This alone is a huge savings over the 360’s pay to play policy.

There is no ring on the PS3, LOL.
Posted .I will start buy saying that I have been through A LOT of systems in my life. I was waiting for the PS3 to come out before I tucked away my PS2 and then finally got one. Please allow me to address some issues that I have been reading over. 1. Placement is very important when it comes to the PS3. It usually needs several inches of room on each side (4 or so from what I heard) and it does not overheat AT ALL in my experience. After playing Resident Evil for 10 hours straight, I was still able to smash my hand against the primary area where the processor is, and couldn't have cared less (back left from what I can tell). It is also a HEAVY processor that pushes A LOT, especially with the Blu-Ray, so will run hotter. 2. The 3.0 Firmware update took about 14 minutes for my PS3 on a wireless-G network that is probably 6 years old (I plan on switching to N really soon). No, 14 minutes to me is not that long for a clean download and install. 3. I love the patches. If I am connected to the internet, the second I pop in a game, if there are patches available to stop any issues with a game that the game may be having, it asks me right away if I want to install them. Good thing is I have only seen it on 2 out of 30 games. 4. I dunno about the Blu-Ray dilly and the loading and playing and what not. I had two Blu-Ray players BOTH of which got replaced with PS3s and the PS3 are about 17% faster. One brand was a Sony Blu-Ray and the other shall remain nameless. 5. WHAT NOISE!!! I still don't get this one. In the room where I primarily game I have a free standing CPU and one of the PS3s. Now apparently there are 3 heat levels where the fans kick on - not a single one can I actually hear over the sound of my CPU fan (or the buzz from the TV for that matter). I doubt these things would even register on decibal meter. 6. The menu screen is nuts when it comes to bonuses. Web browser, free internet connectivity as I can tell. Anything with a hard drive basically freaks me out - one cool thing that I like about the PS3 is that (XBox may do the same), I was at the start menu, hooked my portable 1TB portable hard drive to my PS3 the same way I would my computer, clicked like (not sure this is accurate), Settings>Backup Drive Utility>Yes and it backed up all the contents of the Sony PS3 hard drive in under 4 minutes for 17 gigs of information. All I know was the telling the PS3 to do it took about 25 seconds. 7. These instances where the system busts in like a day, three days, whatever it is - are SERIOUSLY isolated from what I can guess. If it was happening everywhere, there would most likely be a mandatory recall. Bottom line is that this system is slim, sleek, I like the matte finish because my HD DVR and TV screen are both either matte or sem-matte (in both rooms) and it cause the PS3 to just blend in. The wireless controllers last for about forever and a day as well. Well I don't know what they are actually rated for, but the first through third day I had it, I played 10 hours of Resident Evil, 6 hours of NBA Live 2009 and 7 hours of Madden 10 and when I pushed in the SP button in the center to view the battery level, it was still over hald full. It may just be me but I think one of the coolest parts of the SP button in the center of the remote is the ability to just return to the main menu to pause the game at the same time as well as shut the entire system down all together and the range being VASTLY improved. 7.
