The Best is here to stay.
Posted .This is it, The PlayStation 3. I honestly don't know where to start with this System? This has got to be one of the Greatest Media Players out there Along side the Xbox 360. I've bought mine a Few months ago but finally stop playing to get to a review. + Great looking Video games. (i.e God Of war 3, GT5, Yakzua, Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted Series) + Free Online Gameplay + Playstation Network (Which as Gotten alot better over the years) + Blu-ray/DVD Player + HD is Top Noch (1080p) + 3D for Future 3DTV owners + Built in internet Browser (USB keyboard or Mouse works as well) + Ad-Hoc Play (for you PSP owners) + Connects to the PSP (for even more Extension of your media) + 5.1 and 7.1 Dolby/DTS + Bluetooth + Netflix + Update HDD with a Laptop Hard Drive it Has so much Entertainment value its Jaw Dropping. I've been holding back to get a 2nd PS3 for myself for a while. I'm glad I went and got one. Sony really have went all out on this little Powerhouse. I am pleased. I would like Sony to Add Goggle TV to the PS3 if they could but one can only dream. There's no Cross Game Chat unless you update to Playstation Plus but that's something I can live without and it should have been Free. I Also Recommend The products I enlisted below 500 GB HDD and a Media Expansion bar to get the most out of all your USB/SD cards. in the end: I love it, end of Story. Get one now and stop reading these Reviews.

A great console for both gaming/multimedia!!!!
Posted .This console has everything you are looking for in a gaming console; containing excellent graphics and an amazingly superior blueray player, also great exclusive games with a touch of free online play makes this console a "best buy"! The PS3 Move is way more accurate and precise than the wii or the kinect and can be integrated in many games with still the same breath taking graphics!!! The PS3 slim has a powerful wireless adapter built-in and can reach far distances! I would rate the xbox 360 a 4.5/5, the wii a 3.7/5, and the PS3 slim a sweet 5/5! I have owned all consoles. I hope this helped sway you into making a decision. Your reviewer, Shooterman

PS3
Posted .I was sold on a PS3 for the simple fact everything is on it than buying a Blueray/Internet player. Bought the keyboard also, makes menus a lot easier to enter info. Ran Ethernet from router......presto! All is well! I rated value only 4 stars cause all our accessories and games cost about as much as the PS3 unit itself. Sony packed a great deal of technology in these units. Games are in H.D. Love It!

Brought A Defective One For A Child...
Posted .What can i say? I brought it from BestBuy yesterday. Had to take it back today. It would have been great for my Girlfriend's Kid. If it had worked. But there was "0" problem from BestBuy, when i returned it. The only problem was i live in Queens, my Girlfriend & her kid live in Brooklyn. The BestBuy that i purchased this item from, is in Nassau County. Traveling by Bus & Trains is not one of my strong points. The kid is very happy with it now, so is the Mrs. BestBuy is still the Best when it comes to Buying Electronics. I just got a defective PS3. At no fault to BestBuy. Thank You, BestBuy!

Great replacement console!!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI had a 60 GB model Ps3 die on me back in September, I immediately went to BB to buy this model, I do have a 500 GB HDD and was totally Bummed to have to start all my games over... But having said that, this is the PERFECT time to own a PS3, Netflix just struck a deal with Sony to provide its service without a disc.. That makes this system even better.. Also heat dispersion is much better than my old 60GB model so anyone that complains about this model just think about it.. the old 60GB and 80GB models had the cooling vents and heat vents next to each other.. this one put the heat vent in the back and the cooling vent next to the blu ray.. Yes I don't like only having 2 USB's but I already had a spare usb hub from BB so I have 7 USB's now.. (6 hub 1 free on the ps3) I feel that this console out shines the XBOX 360 S. I could have bought that one over a new ps3, but I didn't... Why? because I love Blu-ray.. I don't need cross game chat either, I never want to chat with people not in a game with me.. I gotta say I love the fact I can't accidentally turn this baby off, the push buttons might seem ugly, useless to some, but I can't tell you how many times my old ps3 turned on if a feather touched the power button. The blu-ray is louder when reading, but I think that is due to the slimmer design.. Less thickness to drown the sound out.. My games like LBP1 have never loaded quicker, and PS HOME loads in 45 seconds flat now. my old PS3 took over 1min30sec to load HOME.. Is there a better console out there?? well with my 500 GB HDD no, not really.. XB vs PS3, I say PS3 wins, NETFLIX is built in and doesn't need that scam of a service called XBL to run netflix... and XBL is now $65/yr after taxes.. Why bother?? Yes PS+ is out there, but its Voluntary.. I have it to get Betas for games... I can't say enough times how happy I am with this system.. BTW, I do want to point out, you MUST have a USB Thumb drive with 2 GB if you ever expect to get this system running.. It required an immediate Firmware update.. Thank God I got the sims 3 coll. edition with a free 2 GB stick.. That game actually paid off for once.. LOL... I hope you consider this system over the other ones.. XB360 might seem better but it really isn't, Forcing people to Pay to play online isn't cool.. At least I can let this PS+ service expire and not worry about my PSN not working... I do INSIST you get the PSN's 2 year warranty not the BB one, the service I got is in the PSN Store, you only spend $44 for 2 years.. worth it if I ever had a YLOD again.. Here's hoping.. Now I just need Little Big Planet 2... Then and only then would I be a happy camper.. :-) Thats another thing, what game on XB360 is remotely like LBP2????? Another thing GT5 got delayed, not surprised, but it will out shine Forza 3 by a LONG shot. PD does make awesome GT games, they just take 4 ever to release.. But perfect games take a while to make.. Look at most of the other racing games out there, they are childs play compared to GT5..

Reviewed as a media center for my parents
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendFor Christmas I wanted to get my parents a Bluray player, and after finding one only to have nothing but issues with it I returned it to best buy and did a lot more research. In the end I decided the best choice for the money was the PS3. Netflix First off the most important factor is Netflix streaming. I have my own PS3 and already knew how easy it was to work. However some things I didn't know is that the PS3 unlike most players that stream Netflix it actually lets you search the netflix library. Other units will only play what is in your que. It also lets you used closed captioning which I don't believe any current bluray player does with netflix. So overall Netflix works extremely well streaming from our router. Movies load fast, never stop to buffer, picture is clear, and plus Netflix on the PS3 comes with a bunch of features. Ability to resume movie/show at any point in addition to whats mentioned above. It should be noted a PSN account is needed to access Netflix and all other internet services from the system. A PSN account is free however and very simple to create. DVD/BLURAY So watching movies off a disc. Well again already owning a PS3 I know that Bluray movies look amazing on it, as do DVDs which the PS3 up-scales so even though you are watching a DVD it will look remarkably better on your HDTV. The PS3 is set to automatically start a movie once its placed into the system and boor right up. This can be changed but its makes it a lot easier for my parents instead of having to navigate the interface. The PS3 will also play a movie exactly from where you leave off should you stop a movie and even remove it from the system. Very nice feature for them. Not that it matters to my parents but the PS3 is also capable of playing movies in 3D. A nice feature for those interested I'm sure... INTERFACE While it might take some getting used to the PS3s interface is rather simple. It breaks down everything into columns such as, movies, music, and games. Moving left to right over the categories and up and down to access its features. My parents just needed to know how to get to the netflix icon. I showed them once and they haven't asked me for help since. BOTTOM LINE My parents love their PS3 and get a ton of use with it. Its quick to turn on, easy for them to use, Netflix works great, and DVD/Blurays look amazing. I should mention I got them the remote to go with it. I figured I was pushing my luck letting them use the controller as its very unfamiliar to them, and they aren't very tech savvy. But with the remote they can navigate the interface easy enough. I did a lot of research on Bluray players and what I pretty much found was the only ones worth buying were in the $200-$250 range. Other units either have lousy wi-fi streaming, or just don't last long. I figured for the money I might as well get them a PS3 knowing its quality already. I hope you found this helpful.........btw its an amazing gaming machine too.

The PlayStation 3 is one amazing device! LOVE IT!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI recently purchased my first Play Station 3 last week on Saturday, February 12, 2011, and I have loved having it. I primarily purchased the PS3 for its DVD, Blu Ray, and Online Media capabilities because I wanted an all-in-one device than can do pretty much everything I want, and the PS3 has lived up to my expectations, thus far. Here are the best and worst features that I have found about my PS3: PROS: **NETFLIX capabilities – The Netflix user interface is FANTASTIC! The Netflix application on the PS3 allows me to search for ALL streaming movies, add movies to my instant queue, browse for movies by genre, watch movies based on suggestions for me, and rate the movies. The only bad part is that I cannot add DVDs to my DVD queue. Overall, Netflix on my PS3 is so much better than my TiVo box because TiVo does not allow searching, browsing or adding movies to the instant queue – I can only watch the movies in my instant queue on the TiVo box. **HULU PLUS capabilities – I love Hulu Plus on this PS3, as it allows ALL of the same functions that Netflix does, and even more. Additionally, Hulu Plus allows me to view any TV movies or shows in my history, and play them. It’s a shame that some other devices that have Hulu Plus don’t even allow searching, browsing, or looking at the user’s viewing history. **DVD and Blu Ray playback – The playback of these discs is great, too. I love the fact that I can play DVDs, Blu Ray discs, and just regular CD’s on the PS3. **Ease of Setup – Even though it took me over an hour to set up the PS3, the set up flowed smoothly, and was very simple. **Wi-Fi built-in connection – This is a great feature because it has eliminated me from having to use an Ethernet cable to connect my PS3 to my router or having to buy an external adapter to connect to the router. The Wi-Fi connection has worked great for me, and the PS3 instantly connected to my wireless network once I entered in the Passcode to connect to the network. Also, I have NO lags or dropped connections when I play movies from Netflix and Hulu Plus. **Online Media content – The PS3 also allows me to watch YouTube, and surf the web, which are both great factors. **PlayStation Network – The PlayStation Network is great, as it allows for any downloads and there are tons of free games and movie content that can be downloaded right from the PlayStation Network. CONS: **The only real cons that I have noticed about the PS3 is the high cost of $300.00 for the device itself, but it was well worth the price for me because I now have an all-in-one device that does almost everything that I want. **Another con is that the PS3 isn’t a DVR and it cannot record TV shows like a TiVo, Moxi, or cable DVR can do. I only wish that PlayStation will add DVR features to their next generation of PlayStations that will come out sometime in the future. If PlayStation will add DVR functions and capabilities to their PlayStation 4, then I will throw away my TiVo box. RECOMMENDATIONS: I highly recommend the PS3 to any and everyone out there who may want an all-in-one device. Also, I recommend the Harmony One Remote and Harmony adapter for PS3 users who want to control their PS3 with just one remote instead of the controller. For good wireless networking, the NetGear N600 router is great, too, as this is the same router that I currently use. Overall, I am definitely NOT disappointed with my PS3!

Great game system get your moneys worth
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI upgraded from my PS2 to the PS3 and got the 120 gig system and its not selling anymore. I have loved that thing it is amazing to game on it runs so smooth never over heats I have plenty of memory have all my music on it and photos etc. The one down side which is very small is the way you have to put music on it sucks organizing it into playlists so i just use a flash drive so its easier to acess but im putting it on slowly I just dont have time to put it all on. I have never spent my money in a more wise way. The built in wi-fi is great. I can access any laptops or anything that has wi-fi as well. I have had it freeze on me three times in ten months that is pretty good if you ask me. Its easy to set up and to get gaming in no time at all. It took me two years to finally decide to upgrade since i have i havent regreted it. I still havent tried the bluy ray out yet since i have no bluray movies. I would recomend this product to anyone. Dont waste your money on an xbox 360 you have to pay for online an extra fifty a year thats a game a year.

Q: Questiondoes this product come with all the cables to hook up to the tv and internet
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I does come with standard definition cables. Assuming you have and HDTV, you will want an HDMI cable. If you have a wireless router and that's how you will connect, you don't need any network cables. If you are going to wire it to your network, you'll want a patch cable (if possible I would use a wired network).

Q: QuestionCan I use this to power surround soundI am considering a new surround sound system. Can I purchase speakers and this gaming system instead of purchasing a blue ray surround sound system?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer If you are looking to plug the speakers directly into the PS3, that is not an option. But if you are looking to purchase a receiver and speaker system, you can plug this into any receiver with aux, optical, or HDMI switching.
