PS5: The WiFi Router That Changed My Life
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright, the PS5 is basically the Beyoncé of gaming consoles. Sleek, powerful, and always delivering. The load times? Practically nonexistent. Blink and you’re already in the game. The graphics are so crisp it’s like your TV got a degree in 4K brilliance. And don’t even get me started on the controller. The haptic feedback and adaptive triggers? Chef’s kiss. It’s like the controller is gossiping with your fingers about what’s happening in the game. Downside? It’s chunky. This thing looks like a futuristic WiFi router that lifts weights. And yeah, it’s expensive, but once you see Spider-Man swinging in ray-traced glory you’ll stop crying about your wallet. If you can get one without selling your soul or fighting scalpers, do it. It’s worth it.

Finally! Bestbuy makes getting a PS5 possible!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've wanted a PS5 for a while now. Ironically, it has less to do with any PS5-exclusive games (you can count those on one hand, pretty much), but after getting a 4K TV, I wanted to see just how big of a difference there was in my existing PS4 library...plus, I wanted a PS5 anyway. Given the problematic microchip shortage (still aching to get a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, thanks scalpers), I wasn't confident in getting one of these anytime soon, not to mention the rampant scalping that is still ongoing. I got a month of the Premium Plus membership, which I also heartily recommend, especially for those who are just starting too dip their toes into video games. It's a real good deal. Played through all of Dark Pictures: Little Hope and Ys IX, and a few game trials and more. It's at its best on the PS5, BTW. The system is excellent, but I should mention that at this time, it's essentially a "Super PS4 Pro". I know that this is consistent with new systems, and it appears that current global events are putting the stranglehold on more innovation, but I am glad to see some really awesome PS5 games coming soon, especially Alan Wake 2, Street Fighter 6, and more. I've just gotta say it. The system looks weird, and weirder still on its side. It comes with a base that does the job, but like my wife described it, it looks "melted". My own opinion, I think it's too much design, but don't judge a book by its cover. The system and interface is exceptional, and gameplay is wonderful. The controller has even more heft to it than the PS4 DualShock, probably thanks to all the little motors in it delivering haptic feedback. This takes a lot of getting used to, but it's so novel that I'm more intrigued by it than anything else. I'm really glad to get one of these, even if it was at full MSRP. (I usually wait for Black Friday deals, but given the current climate for microprocessors and the demand of these, I wasn't counting on this for at least a couple of years.) For anyone who has struggled to get one, really just request an invite. No obligation, but mine literally shipped and arrived the day I ordered it.

PlayStation 5: The Future of Gaming Is Here
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PlayStation 5: A True Next-Gen Experience The PlayStation 5 isn’t just a console; it’s a gateway to a whole new level of gaming. From its sleek futuristic design to its unmatched performance, the PS5 has redefined what players can expect from their gaming experience. First, let’s talk about speed. The SSD is a game-changer. Load times are practically nonexistent, making transitions between menus and gameplay seamless. Open-world games like Horizon Forbidden West feel alive and responsive, with no interruptions to break immersion. Then there’s the graphics. With ray tracing and 4K support, every game looks stunning. The level of detail, lighting effects, and textures create an experience that’s visually breathtaking. Coupled with smooth frame rates, it’s hard to go back to anything else. The DualSense controller deserves its own mention—it’s the perfect companion to the PS5’s power. The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback make gameplay incredibly immersive, allowing you to feel every explosion, impact, and moment of tension. The PS5’s UI is clean and intuitive, making it easy to navigate and switch between games and apps. And the backward compatibility with PS4 titles means your gaming library stays relevant, offering hundreds of hours of entertainment. Sony has delivered a true masterpiece with the PlayStation 5. It’s not just a console—it’s a glimpse into the future of gaming. If you’re looking for unparalleled performance, breathtaking visuals, and innovative features, the PS5 is worth every penny.

Best Current Generation Console
|Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of the two next generation options, PlayStation cements itself as the option for people who actually play video games. The Xbox is fine, but PlayStation has first party titles worth playing. Not to mention it’s the best way to explore the vast catalog of PlayStation 4 titles. Great system but during slow months it can feel like nothing of note is releasing. The Controller is awesome, it feels like a true evolution over the DualShock 4. The triggers can tighten to feel like shooting a bow or a web like in Spider-Man 2.

The performance is incredibly fast, with stunning graphics and smooth gameplay that truly elevate the gaming experience. The DualSense controller adds a whole new level of immersion, and I haven’t faced any issues so far. It’s perfect for both casual gamers and hardcore enthusiasts. I couldn’t recommend it more!

Great Console but questionable gaming ecosystem
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been on Team Xbox since the beginning but decided to switch to the PS5 because of the exclusive games. Performance-wise, the Xbox Series X and PS5 are on the same level. I would probably say the XSX is a little bit faster but its so minimal. I don't like the design on the PS5 and ended up purchasing different cover plates. The console is massive and with concerns about overheating, I didn't want to keep it in my entertainment center. I heard about other users having issues with large amounts of dust collecting in the system over time so I bought a mesh dust cover to put over the front of the system. The controller is really nice and feels like a next-gen piece of equipment, unlike the Xbox controllers. The battery life isn't great, so I recommended getting a second controller or a 10 ft. USB-C cable. A few things irked me over the first few weeks of the purchase. Regarding the storage capacity, the Xbox is 1TB, and the PS5 is 825GB. I thought it was weird that PS5 used that storage capacity on their box. I figured that was the storage capacity after it was reformatted, but its not. After it is formatted, it drops down to 650GB. With the increasing size of games, I found myself in a situation where I either have to purchase additional internal storage, which is pricey, or move the games between the console and an external SSD drive. Coming from Xbox, where doing a return for a digital download is easy, it is the exact opposite when dealing with Sony. I unknowingly purchased a DLC already included in one of the games I bought. I learned that digital downloads cannot be refunded once they have been DOWNLOADED to your system. It was only $10 but if you pre-order a game and have auto-download on, it's yours, even if you change your mind and never play it. The week after I purchased the system, Sony also announced that they would raise the PlayStation Plus prices by 33%. I play video games to take a break from the real world for 1-2 hours and avoid the online competitive gaming space so it wasn't a deal breaker but made me rethink my purchase. With all that negative stuff out of the way, actually playing the games is really enjoyable. The Last of Us: Part 1 and 2 were both incredible and a nice introduction to what the PS5 is capable of.

The Amazing ps5!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So glad to have one finally! Like the reviews I’ve read, this is definitely huge compared to the ps4, but besides that, I love everything else about it! The ssd, the controller with haptic feedback feels fantastic in hand when playing games and load times on most games is nonexistent! I picked up God of War, Demons Souls, Horizon F.W., Mortal Kombat and Ratchet and Clank R.A., they all feel next gen, incredible! The only other thing I wish Sony could have done differently besides the size is the storage size, it will fill up pretty quick because the size of some games can be about 100 GB+. Would definitely recommend anyone to upgrade and pick up a ps5!

PS5 is off the hook!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Playstation 5 is awesome. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is tremendous. I normally play XBOX console and games but after purchasing PS5, forget about it XBOX. I purchased a bundle from Best Buy the PS5 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and the price was reasonable at $569.00, I couldn’t beat that so I bought it asap and picked it up at BB. I got COD and MK and I am very happy to play these games. Sony did a awesome job on PS5 and thank you Best Buy!!! The only issue I noticed is that the wireless controller battery use a lot of battery life so you need to charge it all the time.

Q: QuestionWould it be more worth it to get the disc version or the digital? Are there any differences other than the disc thing being there?
Asked by Mysti.
- A:Answer A lot of it depends on your specific needs. If someone has older Ps4 games on disc , of course , they are going to need a drive in order to access those older games. In addition, some people use their Ps5 as a movie player. In terms of actual game play and performance of a disc vs digital ; there really isn't a huge one. There are those that say a digital Ps5 runs a little faster and that the drive itself is way too loud , but I've not seen a huge difference.
