First of, deeply annoyed this does not come with the headset. I understand some people may already have this camera prior to the PSVR release and the for the launch and pre-orders there were bundles. However, there still needs to be bundles! How would you like purchasing a $500 object that you can't even use because you don't have a $60 camera? Please buy this if you are getting a PSVR! Second, the camera is so out of date. Beyond the old camera, there is no difference only in shape and maybe clearer picture. But come on, you're not using this to take pictures. If you are using this for PSVR it will not move to track your body. You will have to move it yourself by hand. That's right! Xbox made a better product almost 10 years ago and PlayStation is still using the same camera from that time that pales in comparison with no added updates. Really would be great if it could track your hands and fingers so you didn't have to use Move controllers or the Dualshock remote. However, the camera does work as advertised for the VR headset so I can't really give it a totally bad review just because I think it should be more than it is. No lag issues noted and it smoothly helps me feel integrated into the VR world. Also, the microphone works well for voice commands in the PlayStation menu.

Bought this to go with my Playstation VR. Does what it's supposed to do. The VR works great. Some things to keep in mind: 1) it's sensitive to the vertical mounting height. Too low and you're represented as tall in the VR app, too high and you're represented as short in the VR app. Getting it just the right height can be a problem though - especially if you have a large TV - as the optimal height is right where your screen is. This means you have to have it a little low or a little high; this isn't a big deal - just giving you a heads up. 2) Mounting can be tricky because if your TV is wall mounted you probably won't have a shelf to set it on. Pro tip: buy one of those suction-cup cell-phone holders for your car and mount that to the bezel of your TV. Works like a charm. If you have a low-bezel TV, you'll just have to be creative. However, if you're using the camera for VR, it doesn't really matter because you can just stick it to the TV. It's not like you'll see it anyway (what with having a VR headset on).

Size: A little smaller than the first one because they have removed the part that attached to the TV Mount adapter that came with the product. It is roughly the same length as a No.2 Pencil. Design and Function: The design makes more sense now because the older version of the camera had tilt mechanism but could not be tilted if you installed the TV Mount adapter. This camera is now more cylindrical and can tilt up or down and still sits securely on the TV Mount adapter. When you tilted the older camera it would detach from the TV Mount. Quality: The build feels solid and lighter and the TV mount adapter is much thicker and really holds on to the Camera. You can shake the mount with the camera vigorously without a worry unlike the first version of the camera and mount. Specs: Internals are the same as the first

Stand won't work on top of new Sony Bravia TV

We have a brand new 4K Sony Bravia TV and the new camera stand will not work sitting on top (ledge design isn't deep enough). The old camera stand works for this position, however adjusting the angle of the old PS4 camera is a pain - hence why I bought the new version. As others have stated the cable is also too thick and the stand isn't heavy enough, so sitting in front of the TV it just moves all over the place. Sony, I realize your product divisions are segmented and the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. But PLEASE either integrate the PS4 camera into your TV's (with auto-tracking) or at least come up with a clever way to integrate a stand for the PS4 camera into your TV stands. The PSVR has enough cables already, I don't need more clutter in my setup for a camera just having to be out in the open.

    Precise controls for PSVR

I owned previous generation PlayStation Move controllers and purchased this set to go with my new PS VR. Controls are precise and work great with all of the VR games I've tried to this point. I had a lot of trouble pairing both of the controllers and had to rely on my 13 year old to figure out one of the controllers were paired to his profile and the other was paired to my profile. Not sure how that happened because we weren't switching profiles, but only one controller would light up. Charging the controllers can be a chore as well. The PS VR takes up one USB port, leaving just one USB port to charge 2 Move controllers. That math doesn't work. It also takes quite a while for the controllers to charge so it give you time to fire up the Xbox while you wait...and wait.

I took advantage of a limited-time deal, and picked up the PS4 for $40.00. I'm glad I did, because it is a great camera. I'm now able to stream my games with myself in view, and even use voice commands if need be. The only downside is that, since the PS4 only uses a proprietary cable for its camera, there's no way to use this anywhere else, such as a computer. Also, because the system only recognizes the special cable, there's no way to use a 3rd party camera on your PS4, meaning you have to shell out the money for this camera if you want to stream gameplay and yourself. But, if you're serious about game streaming, you can't go wrong with this camera. Mainly because, you have no other choice.

I just broke into streaming my online game play from my PS4, and wanted to add more than just my voice. The 4 only has one camera that is compatible with the system, and it's their's. The closer you sit in front of it, the better you will look. Once you are about 6ft out, you'll start to lose facial features and may look grainy. However, it works just fine, and I've had no problems with it. The stand can be mounted to a TV or monitor. It really just hangs there, but it will not fall off. The stand can also be positioned so that you can set the camera on a desk or table. I'm satisfied with it, and again, no troubles.

    Camera for VR

Normal color camera tech by detecting depth and scale for positional information doesn't sound like the keep it simple stupid philosophy I like to have. I would imagine it's a little over-complicated excuse just to also get a free camera in your living room and likely lacks potential positional resolution at that expense. Truth be told, I don't want my bleeping picture taken but, clearly required for VR. Does it work? Yes. The cable is fat and unmanageable. The stand just sucks, There is no real weight to it and the cable tension is too heavy so, it just goes where it wants. The cable should be thinner for flexibility, longer, and base should be heavy with more rubber surface area or friction/grip.
