Not having a "smartphone", I purchased this voice translator for an upcoming trip to Europe. Just from playing around with it so far, I like that it is compact, super easy to use, can be operated with WiFi or used anywhere that a cellphone can and is loud enough to be heard. I know a little bit of Greek and the device translated what I said accurately. It is so Star Trek-ish. I showed it to the person I'll be traveling with and they bought one as well. Based on my initial impressions, I can highly recommend the Pocketalk Voice Translator.

I originally bought this to go on a trip to Egypt. However, the Arabic language on the device is very formal and not “slang” like Egyptians talk. However, I Do use it at work (I’m a nurse) to talk to patients who speak foreign languages. It works well for very basic communication. A German doctor I work with loves it! My dad is from Holland and he says it is very accurate.

Bought as a gift for my father as they travels a lot. So far the translation has been right on point. Great gift item for travelers
