    Synopsis

South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut
The most tasteless third graders on television graduate to the big screen, as Trey Parker and Matt Stone expand their animated series with foul-mouthed humor that might breach the boundaries of basic cable. In the small Colorado town of South Park, good-natured Stan Marsh, slightly neurotic Kyle Broflovski, fat and petulant Eric Cartman, and perpetually doomed Kenny McCormick are psyched for the premiere of the first feature film from flatulent Canadian TV performers Terrance and Phillip, entitled "Asses of Fire." The movie is rated R, but that's not about to stop the boys from sneaking into the theater. However, when the boys' language gets bluer by the minute after seeing the film, their parents and school administrators decide that something must be done. Kyle's mother comes up with the ideal solution: blame Canada. Terrance and Phillip end up in jail for corrupting America's youth, while the Canadian Air Force retaliates with an air strike targeting the Baldwin brothers. The boys soon organize a children's underground resistance force to free Terrance and Phillip before they can be executed; meanwhile, in a sensitive subplot exploring relationship issues, we're permitted an inside look at the domestic problems of Satan and his lover, Saddam Hussein. As on the TV show, Parker and Stone perform the voices of most of the characters, and they also wrote several songs for the film; George Clooney, Minnie Driver, Eric Idle, Dave Foley, and Mike Judge contribute voices. Not to spoil the plot, but rumor has it that Kenny dies. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Truth is truth. Being able to take that truth and make it funny and eye opening at the same time is talent! If you're a South Park fan, this delivers on everything you love! I wish they'd make more! If you're sensible and easily offended, this is NOT for you! Though it brings out the irony in our culture in many ways (e.g. cussing seems to be worse than blood and guts unless it's real), it can get lost in people who refuse to listen rather than see. Trey and Matt use this concept over and over in this movie, and even flip it around to make their point more apparent. This movie is a classic! It's funny, ridiculous, insulting, offensive, and somehow still extremely thoughtful and telling. It's almost as if they predicted our demise into the extremely polarized world we live where death is an acceptable punishment for what we say. This isn't my only copy of this movie. It's just the best quality copy I have. I'll pass the DVD on to someone who is in need of enlightenment.

I just love this movie! I don't see how somebody couldn't. NOt only is the movie great but to back it up is an amazing soundtrack with Matt and trey busting out hilarious songs. My favorite is the second one (I can't say what it's name is online but it's hilarious). I will admit that this movie really vulgar and does use the f-word alot. But who cares? It's south park, there are very few shows that are better. I am just so siked that they made the movie. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are some of the best, and better yet, they even made Team America which was even better than this movie. But anyway... I deffinatly recommmend this movie for all ages (excluding young children who shouldn't hear some of the words) but it just great!!

What can I say? South Park is one of the greatest animation shows ever! I love how the creators don't hold back and whether you agree with some of the comedy or not, I feel like it should be appreciated for that alone. If you're overly politically correct, this likely isn't the show or movie for you. If you're ok with harmless comedic Canadian bashing, gay mocking and raunchy humor in the vein of "Team America: World Police", this is the movie for you...Blame Canada!

At First I was hesitant to purchase this on Blue Ray, but I'm delighted to say I don't regret my decision. Not all of this is crummy paper cut outs, some portions are heavily animated and computer generated and the colors work very well on this version. The characters are fun and the plot is unique. If anything stands out, it's the intelligent script with great social commentary. Just don't show this to your small children.

Just as the title suggests, it's basicsly an uncensored, longer episode of South Park. The only people I think would truly enjoy this film are true South Park fans. Sure, the musical aspect of the film gives it an edge over your normal every day episodes abd keeps it fresh, but overall it's not enough. The uncut languages only goes so far. I truly wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone but South Park fans.

Those who like the Comedy Central 'South Park' television show will probably enjoy this movie to an extent. I'm not personally a huge fan of the show, but do watch it from time to time, and find some of the material humorous. This movie however, is a whole different ball-game, and is overloaded with obscene and offensive material that will simply turn most viewers off rather quickly. Don't let your kids watch this one.

South Park has always known how to skewer popular culture. This film is no different--here taking on film ratings. I particularly liked the fact that when I bought it, the computer prompted the clerk to ask for my ID, which, as I recall, was essentially the premise of the film. I'm sure Trey Parker and Matt Stone would have gotten a kick out of that.

Made during south parks original height of popularity, figuring they were on the way out already the creators of South Park didn't hold back when making this movie as crude and funny as they could. Looks a bit primitive compared to more recent seasons but I still find it a very enjoyable musical
