Very solid phone
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this phone as a backup phone in case one of our phones was dead/not working well. I considered activating it with the carrier it was made for but instead I activated it on ring+. It was the easiest activation I have ever done. You enter the MEID number and it tells you to do the regular activation on the phone and presto it's done. I was able to get a decent amount of data and minutes/text for free! I've not paid a dime and my wife used the phone as her primary phone for the entire month when her battery stopped holding a charge. I dropped 1 star because there is a terrible lack of on-device storage which limited my ability to do normal updates for apps. It runs out of space doing the pre-installed apps. They need to have models have a base of at least 8 gigs. Otherwise it is the best bang for the buck I have ever seen.

great inexpensive no-contract smartphone
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendWe've had this smartphone for a few weeks now and it's proven to be very good. I bought it for my middle-school aged daughter to use strictly as a type of "iPod touch" (Wi-Fi usage only, not activating the phone aspect). She already has her own iPad and isn't ready for a cellphone/smartphone yet, but we wanted to get her something small and portable (and cheap!) as well. This fit the bill. With sales and discount specials, this ended up being only $25.00. It has a fairly large screen (almost 5 inches) and the internals are pretty good for the price--quad core processor, 1 gig RAM. And it's not some no-name brand, either. We've previously had HTC smartphones in the past so we knew it was a reliable brand. It runs pretty smoothly, fast, and the intuitiveness of the touchscreen is quite good as well. For the price (regular price is $100) obviously I don't expect it to run and respond as well as my iPhone 6 Plus (regular price $849). The only negative is that it only comes with 4 gigs of storage, which is used up quite quickly. But it does have expandable storage, so I just picked up a 16 gig microSD card on sale for $6.00 and we're good to go. This is a great starter smartphone for kids, or for anyone who would like a cheap MP3 player or off-contract smartphone just to use on Wi-Fi. My daughters also use it to stream music from Amazon and videos from Netflix and YouTube and have had no problems. The camera isn't really good, though--I wouldn't rely on it for picture taking, that's for sure. But for everything we want to use it for, it's been excellent.

There is a reason why this phone costs only $50.
|Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendSo when you purchase this phone, make sure you grab a bottle of your favorite headache reliever as well. Because the keyboard is so hard to use. You want to press the spacebar but you hit the letter v so yourvtextsvlookvlikevthis and then you have to start over... The best keyboard is the swype one which you can find in the phones App Store. Also autocorrect/word suggestion is not very helpful and it changes your correct words on you. But really it takes 10+ minutes longer than you want to spend time typing out your texts to ppl. Other than the not-so-great keyboard, the battery life is not really there. I'm not very active on the phone and barely manage to go more than a full day, maybe a day and a half. So someone who texts 5+ people and uses Facebook will probably be charging twice a day. And that's with a battery optimizer app. It's not all bad tho, if you are looking for a cheap prepaid phone that will text/call/do smartphone things when you need it to~ this is a decent option. Definitely not a rave phone. Also camera is potato quality,

Not the best camara
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI do not recomend this phone if you are big on taking pictures, because the resolution is not that great. Not to mention that not having a flash can be inconvinient. The phone has a tendency to lag when unlocking. I would definently say that this phone is for the essential uses mainly. Having many apps and often using the internet slows its general funtions. I would recomend this phone only if its your first smartphone.

Nice Prepaid Phone
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis phone picks up great signal from Sprint. I was on LTE all the time which is rare in my area. Its inexpensive and the plans are great. What else can I say.

Nice phone
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendGreat phone, but there is too much Sprint prepaid bloatware installed on it, and the 4gb space is pretty much all used up. Even getting an SD card for extra space, all the apps main files are still installed on the phone, and you can't transfer everything to the SD card.

HTC can't be beat, IMHO!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI have watched/read all kinds of side by side, comprehensive comparisons between every feature & all possible aspects of HTC devices and the nearest (most similar) devices to them (oftentimes, Samsung devices). After owning 3 HTC's, I now have literally just switched to a Samsung phone - activated within the last few hours - and I wish I could go back to HTC! Honestly, while this device is fun and thoroughly functional for all my needs & even made me add onto that list because of apps and other features I knew nothing about previously - the HTC is more aesthetically pleasing (they carve the gorgeous unibody of versions that have metal exteriors from a single piece of aluminum!), smart in terms of intuitive interface & in the way it's all set up to do things so seamlessly, it has incredible sound quality, apps galore, holds up well under regular everyday use...& it even feels better in your hand when held! This blue one is not THE top of the HTC product line, but it looks very nice because it's not the same shade of blue or the same finish/texture as anybody else's boring blue phone! It's got a bit less onboard memory, but has a slot for expandable storage. It isn't going to please an audiophile 100% when listening to music right from the phone's existing speakers, but they still deliver - solid, rich bass & crisp highs that aren't "tinny" - with very little noticeable distortion. With the device's equalizer, it's easy to adjust the sound to suit your personal preferences. With just a halfway decent pair of earbuds, you're GOLDEN! And the processor keeps the system's performance quite "fluid". The photos and videos are more than adequate for anyone from amateurs like kids & their proud but not as 'savvy' grandparents - to those who are (or fancy themselves to be) somewhat more of a professional-scale shutterbug. To date, I have had 4 models of HTC devices... & I have loved them all.

Good for 1st smart phone
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendGot this phone for my 13 year old son for his birthday. This is his first smart phone. So far he really loves it. Only negative is he has run out of memory already. But I guess a memory card will solve that problem.
