Q: Will this read cards with the chip? Do they slide the same way regular cards do?
A: Yes, the unit will read card by sliding.
A: From my understanding the iPad mini's are not compatible with this stand. It must be iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad Pro 9.7 and iPad 5th & 6th generation. The latest versions of Square Stand are not compatible with the following iPad models: iPad (1st generation) iPad 2 iPad 3 iPad 4 iPad mini iPad Pro 12.9

A: Looks like the A2197 is a 10.2 inch model - unfortunately this will not fit Stand.
