      Awesome collection

The origin of the Borg has been debated and haevily explored in the game Star Trek Legacy. That game included the voice acting of all the series' captains from Original series to Enterprise. Basically, the story goest that Q exposed the Next Generation crew to the Borg so that the federation had some warning of what to be prepared for. What is mentioned in the game was that the Borg were not brought by Q, but were already on their way to Earth. This coincides with what happens in Star Trek First Contact. The Borg go back in time to assimilate the Earth, The Enterprise E stops them, they did manage to send a beacon for backup into space, and in the Enterprise era the surviving Borg from First Contact fight Archer's crew, which is in this dvd, and they did also attempt to send a beacon. So the Borg may have set up a paradox in which they contact themselves to begin a journey to Earth from the far Delta Quadrant. Watch this dvd and the First Contact movie and your set. Included in this dvd is the Series Finale of Voyager, AWESOME episode by the way. The only series not on this dvd is the Original Series Era, as Kirk never encountered the Borg. Have fun with this dvd, Resistance is Futile.

      Resistance is Futile

The Borg quickly became, arguably, the most popular of the Star Trek villains since their debut in TNG's second season episode "Q Who." From that point, they appeared once a season on the show, most famously in "The Best of Both Worlds," the two-parter which bridged TNG's third & fourth seasons, and which became the most famous TV cliffhanger since Dallas's "Who Shot J.R.?" Even the lesser "Descent' two-parter (the cliffhanger which bridges TNG's sixth & seventh seasons) has great moments, which is more than can be said for the Borg's appearances on Voyager and Enterprise, where they simply became less and less scary. So, buy this for the six TNG episodes and just ignore the others.
