Great For All Ages!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Star Wars Battlefront for Xbox One is great for all ages! Both my 39 yr old husband and my 7 yr old son play this game pretty much non-stop! I bought a copy of the game for my 8 yr old nephew as well, and the 2 cousins love playing it online together. The only downside to the online game play is that you cannot play some of the online multiplayer battles/missions with your friends (like Walker Assault). It's either 1 online player vs 1 online player (like Heros vs. Villians) or it's a free for all with Walker Assault. Otherwise this game is great!!.

Star Wars fans will love it, but it's not enough
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was an amazing game when I first got it but the nostalgia factor quickly wore off. For all Star Wars fans that want to relive the original trilogy, this is the game for you. The graphics and music quickly recreate the look and feel of the films. You'll get to play as a variety of characters with different abilities. Always wanted to be Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader? No problem. However, if you are one for storylines and single-player campaigns, this isn't the game you're looking for. It is purely a multiplayer game with missions that you complete. After a number of matches and going through what was available, it got repetitive for me. If you prefer multiplayer shooting games, this is for you. If you want to experience a single player storyline, this isn't it. As a Star Wars fan, I enjoyed it.

Lots of fun!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Star Wars: Battlefront is a really fun game but has many annoying issues. The game has amazing graphics and incredible sounds. Everything from the look of the sparkling snow to the sound of blaster fire is stunning. The details in the game, however big or small, are a great addition to the already beautiful world. A few of them include an awesome aerial battle over Jakku, Ewoks and wildlife on Endor, and Jawas and wildlife on Tatooine. There are also a few easter eggs you can find around some of the maps. The game sounds really good. When you hear the beeping of a Thermal Imploder you get ready for one of the best sounds in video games. The blaster fire sounds great and so does the sizzle of the blaster when it overheats. The gameplay is simple and easy to grasp making it possible for the most casual gamers to play and enjoy. There are a total of 12 maps across 9 game modes in the basic game. You get 2 new maps and 1 new game mode in the free Jakku DLC. The February update introduced a new map for a total of 15 maps across 10 game modes. The February update also fixed some issues/bugs and made some changes to some of the weapons and star cards. With DLC and another update releasing in March 2015 you have more to look forward to in Star Wars: Battlefront. For the annoying issues this game has, the worst has to be the spawns. Whether you spawn really far away from your objective or you spawn right in front of or behind an enemy is super frustrating. As for balance in the games, when you join a game in progress you will usually end up joining a losing side that everybody left. So if you are someone who cares about your win/loss ratio this may be a bit of a problem for you. For the smaller game modes, 8v8 or 6v6, if you are playing alone you may find yourself up against a group of friends working together. Depending on your team you might be okay but when its small groups, friends working together and communicating can make a big difference. Partner spawning is a great feature when its available. Quite a lot of the time when I play my partner is unavailable because they are either in a vehicle or turret, in battle, or dead. This can be frustrating when you want to get back into the action quickly. When partner spawn is available it still isn't always the best option. You may die when you spawn because someone just called down an orbital strike or threw a grenade where your partner was standing. Sometimes your partner might have just spawned so partner spawning will still spawn you away from the battle. Worst yet is when you get stuck with a partner who just runs to the outside of the map and messes around the whole game. A few times while playing I got stuck between rocks or inside of things. This can be frustrating especially if you have a good kill streak going or if you are a hero/hero guard. There aren't that many maps per game mode so you will find yourself playing the same maps often. This is especially annoying on Supremacy and Walker Assault where you just switch sides on the current map after you win/lose the game. Hopefully with the updates and DLC there will be enough maps and modes to keep the game from getting stale too fast. Another big issue this game has is the bugs and glitches. Once I became Darth Vader on Hero Hunt and I glitched through the world and fell to my death. Also another annoying bug is some achievements/trophies don't unlock. On last issue is that the servers can sometimes be flaky. A few smaller complaints are not having the ability to adjust the music volume; you only having the ability to turn it on/off. I don't like the fact that the stormtroopers can remove their helmets. I understand the need for customization but I would rather have the option to change details on the stormtroopers vs them removing their helmets. A few things I would like to see in either updates or DLC would be new star cards such as, one that could make you run faster, one that would increase melee damage, and a rapid fire one. I would like to see more heroes added too such as, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Yoda. I would also like to see the roll mechanic added from Star Wars: Battlefront II. Getting away from grenades and dodging laser fire isn't very easy without it. Another thing I would like to see added would be more customization options or more characters/skins. One more thing I would like to see added would be a 1v3 rancor fight. Either where someone controls the rancor against 3 stormtroopers/rebels or 3 storm/troopers against an AI rancor. It probably won't ever happen but I do hope to see a rancor somewhere in the game at least. Pros: - Its Star Wars! - Awesome Graphics/sounds Cons: - Bad Spawns - Not enough maps - Partner Spawn isn't always available - Lots of bugs/issues that need to be fixed - Servers can be flaky In conclusion, I have had a lot of fun with my time playing Star Wars: Battlefront. The game is beautiful and it sounds great. I wish there were more maps for my favorite game modes. I hope through updates and DLC there will be enough maps to keep me entertained for many more hours. I would recommend playing this game with friends if you can because it should give you an edge over your enemies. The bugs/glitches need to be addressed and fixed. Overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this game to any fan of star wars and causal shooters. 3 out of 5 Stars

Great game, but only if you have online access
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the game is beautiful, and a fun play; however you need to have online access to truly enjoy the game. This is where the game is meant to be played, with others. There is not solo campaign to work through which is a drag, however there are missions that consist of waves of enemies you can either complete solo, or multiplayer either online or through a local connection. Summary: Positives: Great graphics, fun online game modes, fun missions to complete on the side. Negatives: Really a one dimensional game with no campaign options. Can become repetitive, so a palate cleanser is needed.

Great game... though somewhat shallow
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up this in store - graphics are really good, sound is AMAZING (just like the movies), multiplayer is very engaging... just needs more maps/content to retain my interest.

Star Wars Multiplayer is Back!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The graphics and multiplayer is full of nonstop repetitive action! Missions such as Battlefronts Survival game mode is fun when teaming up with a friend to take on waves of stormtroopers. The only downside is that it lacks a "true" campaign mode. So if you love multiplayer and don't care so much for a story then this Star Wars game is for you!

Overall a great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying I am a casual Star Wars fan, so playing in this universe is fun for me. However it was not an instant buy for me solely because it's a Star Wars game. I have probably put 10 hours into it so far. It is a little disappointing that there is no campaign, but the multiplayer is solid. Also I enjoyed playing the "Missions" using online co-op, which could pass as a replacement for a campaign (but not really). I think even if there was a campaign, the main draw would be the multiplayer anyways. Overall the multiplayer is pretty easy to get into, and even as an average skill player I do not feel like I am always getting murdered by the higher skill players. It was super exciting in my first few matches to join a game and come running over a hill seeing Blaster fire flying through the sky and an all out battle between stormtroopers and rebels. Some of the menus are a little confusing and the unlock/upgrade system seems to not allow you to make changes outside of the multiplayer lobby (although maybe I'm missing something). Overall the gameplay is tons of fun and there are plenty of exciting "Star Wars" moments.
