Star Wars Squadrons
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those of you who are confused about the cover, it says VR but you can still play it without having a VR setup, it plays really great on my ps4 pro, for the past couple of games from EA this year has been really great without loot boxes and not being forcing to play online only, I think they're trying to get back into everyone's good grace's

Fun arcade style flying game, VR is amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very entertaining arcade Star Wars space combat game. There is some depth to the game, as each star ship has their own strengths and unique capabilities, which is good for those interested in multiplayer. For single campaign game players, it is neat having to pilot each ship for their specific missions. The single player campaign game is also really neat in having to play both the rebel and Imperial sides. Being able to walk around the hangar and to the briefing room is also neat, as they did a good job in making the player feel like they are on the spaceship. The problem with this game is the horrible controls in trying to fly using the analog control sticks (L3 and R3 buttons). The wonky controls make it difficult to chase or tail an opponent in the space dogfights. Also goofy is how the spaceships simply can throttle down to zero and come to a complete stop and u-turn, with doesn’t make any sense as the spacecraft all have forward thrust, not backwards thrust. The controls and sudden stops makes the dogfighting really frustrating, especially since the Thrustmaster PS4 flight stick is out of stock. Having a flight stick would have made the flying experience much more enjoyable. Being an arcade style game, some of the missions can be senseless tedious and frustrating. One mission is where one has to power slide, which is a neat trick, but doesn’t need to be used when playing the game. Players waste their time trying to complete a senseless video game move. Another frustrating mission is trying to ambush a group of escaping rebel ships. The problem is that the arcade style targeting doesn’t clearly display the mines that will be used to ambush them. The player has to frustratingly scramble to identify which ones and try to detonate them to complete the mission and the game. What is a big strength of this game is the VR mode. It is truly immersive and flying a tie and x-wing fighter in VR mode, the cockpits looked very real. Unfortunately, the VR motion might make one motion sick. Unfortunately, I had to stop playing in VR due to motion sickness, but was still able to finish the campaign game in regular mode. Overall this is an entertaining game to play. One can look on youtube for multiplayer games and how capture the flag/ destroying the opponent’s capital spaceship has evolved.

More For Diehards of Star Wars
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid space experience! It puts you right behind the cockpit and you will become immersed easily. I haven’t been able to put a lot of time into it because of work but I enjoy the time I do get with it. If you have a PS4 Pro, the graphics pop really nicely and for under $10 HOW can you pass this up???

Reminds me of my rogue squadron days
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying they delivered on the game that they promised. There are a few minor bugs just like any cross platform game on any launch but nothing game breaking. This is a fully immersive VR game with the option to play normally out of VR. The story was brief with about 14 mission but they are actually quite challenging. I love the complex mechanics it took me about an hour to set my flight stick up perfectly to how I wanted it but once I did it was highly rewarding. just the sound design and feel of being able to divert power to different subsystems on the fly makes for serious white knuckle flying. you can feel the speed and the drift button becomes your best friend while you pull off insane maneuvers. Being a star wars fan that consumes all content from books, cartoons, films and games its nice to see and hear certain people from all expanses of the canon. Don't forget the game is fairly priced at $40 and you're getting good content for a low price. They didn't promise some massive single player epic tale its a 5v5 hardcore dogfighting fun in the star wars universe. If you expected it to be easy like battlefront 2 starfighter assault then you're gonna have a bad time. The graphics are great but takes some adjustment at first just because of the speed you go and 1st person being your only option but once you get used to the change you can catch on fast. The mechanics are something I haven't experienced before and are a breath of fresh air so the stale gaming world. This is a game where the more hours you log the better you can get.

New Republic vs Imperial Aces w/ VR Mode from EA
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a Star wars fan, had to buy it. It was BBDOTD, great price. Fun game, good graphics and smooth control as always from EA. Fly New Republic & Imperial single pilot Fighter, Interceptor, Bomber, and Support. Story, online, and VR modes available. Story is OK, not great. I'm old, VR gives me a headache but worth it, PS4 with PS5 upgrade.

So much fun
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved Star Wars: Battlefront II (after they figured out everything with the whole microtransaction fiasco). My favorite part though was the dogfights and flying different ships. I enjoyed using the First Person/Cockpit cam but would mostly use the outside camera. This game only lets you use the cockpit cam, but they made it feel so much better. I know it's a decision made for the game to be fully playable in VR, but I don't have VR and I'm totally digging it. The missions are hard and I'm not very good at them most of the time, but I'm still having an awesome time. I think I just love flying X-Wings and Tie Fighters and other Star Wars ships, plus the graphics and art direction of the whole game (menus included) are totally fresh. I love this game and have mostly done missions, but can't wait to battle with my friends too.

Amazing game in VR - Especially now on PS5
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the physical version of this game as I wasn't sure if I would like it as I've never really played any flying games before nor do I follow star wars that much. I specifically bought it for PlayStation VR as it looked intriguing - I tried it first on flat screen and enjoyed it, then jumped in with VR and I can say it is AWESOME. This game is designed to be played in VR, playing on a flat TV just doesn't provide the same experience, even though it was still enjoyable. I will say though, that if you are new to VR this is not a game to try first as you can get very motion sick from this game if you are not already used to VR gaming. I've been playing PlayStation VR for a couple years now so I didn't have any issues luckily. Highly recommend getting this game if you own a VR headset!
