The current standard
||Posted .I was fortunate that Best Buy had the older (yellow background) packaging which is the one to get (until they for the 4K Blu Rays). The discs are identical to the newer release (the one with Darth Vader on it). However, the manner in which the discs are packaged are considerably flimsier on the newer release. Btw, and strangely, the UPCs are identical on the two versions!

" The Force is strong with this"
Posted .I too am sick of hearing whiners complain about star wars. Updated or Original all six are fantastic and make a very compelling and interesting story. It is one of the most quoted movie franchises in history. Not to mention the visuals are spectacular even the original trilogy . And for Lucas to span a whole world based in Outer space making up thousands of names and planets, not many can do that. The story of how a young boy with such innocence could grown up into such a monster and redeem himself for his children by the end is pretty cool. There are many documentaries on the 9 disc box set. Interactive looks at costumes from all 6 movies, looks at gadgets and the science of the high-tech toys and themes of the movies. I say get ready for hyperspace- with Star Wars in Blu-ray, we all should make the Kessel run 12 par secs.

Best I've seen Star Wars look
||Posted .This would be great for any fan. Best picture and sound I have ever seen Star Wars in. My only complaint and reason for 4 stars not 5 is they are not the originals. I have the originals on DVD so not a big deal, but would of liked to see originals in this quality.

Same as the 2011 Blu-ray release!!!
Posted .Well, shame on me for not doing my homework. I purchased this edition thinking it was an updated version of the complete saga previously released in 2011. Imagine my surprise when I compared this edition with the 2011 I already own on Blu-ray! Every detail; the disk's colors, the contents, the content's order etc. are the same. The disks even have the 2011 year printed on them. The additional features, all three disks contain the exact same features in the exact same order! If you own the 2011 Blu-ray edition of "The Complete Saga", then save your hard-earned money. There's nothing new here at all other than the package itself.

LUUUCAAASSS!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!
||Posted .The print transfers are amazing. Color, sound and detail are excellent. Now lets get to the fan controversies...Lucas done *messed* it up. Lucas's bizarre CGI additions to the films are grating and unjustifiable. They are shoddy, obvious, sometimes overly cutsie, stupid or just irrational. His decision to make Han shoot at Greedo second, instead of shooting him first, completely changes his character--and for no good reason. The original scene with Greedo was a short and subtle encapsulation of the character of Han Solo, that also displays the magic of film to tell story. Perfect character development. Lucas for whatever reason came back and saw the need to fiddle with this, and so many other things, as if he'd completely what he had done with the films and their characters so many decades before. As if he'd completely lost his command of the artistry of film making for the allure of CGI's power. BUT, I'm still going to give this one 5 stars. The bluray sound and picture are excellent. The menus are fast to load and well executed. The packaging is even nice, I've left mine standing face out from my selection because it looks so nice, and i'm not that kind of guy (you know the kinda guy im talking about. It's a travesty what Lucas did to these films, but the infractions are few and short. They are somewhat easy to ignore if you are expecting them. It's such a shame that there are no original versions of this quality that are legally obtainable. Hey, the original's weren't perfect either, Lucas just threw on a few more fistfuls of cheese with some really dated looking CGI tech.
