Nostalgia of Star Wars
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a kid who grew up in the OT days and mostly in the "Dark Times" of the mid 80's through the mid 90's the lack of Star Wars on film was frustrating. I even rewatched the 2 ewok movies. Then the prequels were announced and heaven and earth were going to change for the better with those films.... Well 16 years later we can see the prequels were pretty bad. Much worse then we expected after the Ewok in ROTJ debacle. Poor Gary Kurtz,.. Ahem. Anyways when Disney bought LFL and announced new movies I was dubious to say the least. Would we get more bad-slapstick and horrendous dialogue. Man it may have killed Star Wars permanently for me if it had been... While I'm no fan of JJ Abrhams I'll say he actually understood what fans of the OT needed. They needed to relive that nostalgic feel that lacked in the prequels. While PT nods are in the film if you know where to look they didn't get too wrapped up in the previous 2 trilogies backlog of lore except for maybe the want of Vader by Kylo and really who didn't want to be Vader back in the day. Easily my favorite film of 2015 and one of the few physical movies I've purchased in a long time.... ago in a galayx far, fa... ack.. no. No ... just it was good.. a little too mary-sue-ish for 1 of the main cast but we let it slide b/c the rest of the film wasn't so terrible it seemed like a train wreck. -Rez

Steelbook worthy for every Star Wars Fan!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's my first time owning a blu-ray that is a steelbook edition and I'm a big Star Wars fan so this was exceptional to purchase. The steelbook looks really good and when you get your hands on it, you can feel the force! Nah, not really but the material is quite durable and I love the art that's on this steelbook inside and out! This steelbook that's exclusively from Best Buy comes with the DVD, Blu-ray, and of course digital HD for your convenient viewing needs. Nothing much else to say about this item but it has some good bonus features but I like to point out that there is only 6 deleted scenes. So if you want to watch the 7th deleted scene, make sure you redeem your code at Disney Movies Anywhere, to view it. Now I'm not sure why they didn't add it into the bonus features disc, it is kind of a disappointment but nevertheless a new Star Wars movie on blu-ray and it's after the original trilogy! By far, it's the best blu-ray purchase I ever gotten so far, especially when it's a steelbook!

THE FORCE LIVES ON! WHAT A RIDE!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Star Wars saga continues with 'The Force Awakens'. The new chapter that introduces us to Rey and a whole bunch of new interesting characters that include, Kylo-Ren, Finn, a new adorable droid, and more. The film is almost a tribute to the first film 'A New Hope', where like Luke Skywalker, Rey (our main character), is searching for something... Her identity and true purpose. On the other side, Kylo-Ren and the First Order try to take control of the galaxy and hunt down Luke(The last Jedi), and whoever else gets in their way. As the search for Luke continues, Abrams succeeds in giving the audience a pleasurable two-hour ride that lives up to the Star Wars World we've all come to love. In a story filled with excitement, sadness, and hope, this is one franchise that will live on for more generations to come. The Steelbook edition is really cool! Nice design.

Sharp and clean 3D visuals. Very good sound.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Star Wars: The Force Awakens was shot primarily on Kodak 35mm film, and is reminiscent of the original. The 3D Blu-ray edition has bonus material both on its own disc and digital content available from Disney for playback on other devices. The benefit is high video bitrate play on its own 3D Blu-ray disc. The results along with a new color scheme are dazzling to the eye, sharp, clean, and immersive. The soundtrack, DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1, surrounds one with deep bass, bright treble, and nuanced effects. The score is classic John Williams with a little extra pop. As far as the story, it a nice rebirth of the original Star Wars Trilogy and is smartly balanced between the nostalgia of the original characters as we are introduced to the next generation of rebels.

This seventh episode of the Star Wars saga brings together a new generation of good and evil, while also maintaining the continuing story of Han Solo, Chewbacca, Leia Organa, and Luke Skywalker. The Force Awakens is fast paced and never slows down. Rey (Daisy Ridley) is the new heroine who through a twist of fate partners up with Finn (John Boyega) as they attempt to return the highly sought after BB8 droid to it's rightful owner Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). En route to the Resistance headquarters the new heroes encounter the evil First Order and new villain Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). Don't pass up on this action packed intergalactic masterpiece. Early Star Wars DVD Purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My goodness! Thanks to Best Buy's "early purchase" online program, I was able to surprise my granddaughter with a copy of the latest Star Wars Blu-Ray DVD on the weekend before the public release the following Tuesday. It made our Saturday viewing outstanding! At 9-years old, this was her first viewing of the movie with my surround sound system on a 55-inch screen (popcorn included) and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Getting the early purchase was terrific and for other future DVDs, this is the route I'll take. Besides, it makes grandpa a hero!

They Made Episodes I thru III? I don't remember...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Star Wars Episode VIII: The Force Awakens is JJ Abrams' love letter to the original Trilogy, and pretty much does what it intends: to rinse away the bad taste of George Lucas' well-meant-but-utterly-lifeless "Prequel" Trilogy, bringing us back to the world of the characters we all know and love, and introducing a trio of new young heroes to carry on the Saga. There's a lot of love for the franchise on display in this new Episode, and the special features do a good job of showing how much a work of love this film really is. Needless to say, if you're a Star Wars fan, this is necessary viewing, and a must-have in any video library!

A nice Steel book case for the Star Wars fans
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a great movie and is a must own for your film collection. If you are a hardcore Star Wars fan then the Only @ Best Buy Steel Book is really nice to have. The front like all other Star Wars steel books has a villain from the film, this time Kylo Ren. The back is where it differs from the rest of the series. Were the other films has the films poster on the back, this one has another villain aka Captain Phasma. The reason for this is because episode 1-6 was release by 20th Century Fox and episode 7 by Walt Disney Studios. The inside has the scene from the movie were the Millennium Falcon takes on two tie fighters on Jakku. Caution however, when buying this make sure the spine is correct. I order mine online and the spine was put on incorrectly. Overall a must have.
