Great album - Welcome back STP!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This album gets better upon each listen. I have listened to this for the past week and a half and have not grown tired of it yet. 'Cinnamon' is a song that will make you do a double take when you start to listen to it. I couldn't believe it was Scott singing, nor that this was a STP song. However, as the song progresses, I could finally believe that it was Scott and STP. This is a song that fans will either love or hate. I love it. Other songs, such as 'First Kiss On Mars' and 'Maver' will stay in your heads for awhile (well, for me they have). 'Take A Load Off' and 'Fast As I Can' are good rockers. I can't say thank you enough to a band I never thought would release an album ever again. A great, great album that will continue to be played for some time to come.

The more I listen, the more I like...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An awesome album that's both a culmination of the band's past and certainly reveals several of their influences. Certain songs and certain elements of the album are ''very STP'', but nearly every song evokes the band's influences , in obvious ways I believe, moreso than any previous album has. Robert always has at least one song per album in which he singularly grabs your attention, but I don't see it on this album. Altogether great though, not at all disappointed.

Needs more angst
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The cd starts off promisingly, but falls back into their rut of mellow and poppy tunes. I have been waiting for them to return to the angst of their debut record and it never comes. This is not to say that the new album is awful, but STP started off as an attitude-infused group that's turned into a band that has fallen just short becoming the balladeers that the Chili Peppers turned into after "Bridge." The record is a bit of a disappointment considering that Weiland had spent so much time apart from the band; you would think that they would've had enough material to come back with a bang.

Typical So-So STP
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.STP is back at it again. After sampling this cd on amzn, I have to admit just another So-So Release by a band who's notorious for getting acclaim for making/writing "1" hit wonders. I would say off the studio 5 albums they have, there's only say 5 really good songs, and 30 iffy at best songs. I'm not sure I'd classify these guys as good. Like Nirvana, their 1st record=GREAT, everything else = GARBAGE! Why bother. For a lead singer to get tossed out of his original band to then get tossed out of what could have been his bread-n-butter to step back in and record this.....they should stick to what they know is best for them.....being broke-up! I rate this FAIR, cuz it is what it is, FAIR. It's all this band has ever been and ever will be. As for the guy who first wrote a review giving it 5 stars, dude check yer head, this isn't worth the plastic it's printed on. As for those who read this and beg to differ, that's fine. But I guarantee this isn't a CD you leave in yer player for weeks on end....unless you forget it's there, which will happen to many people.
