    Streets of Fire
More like a series of MTV sequences than a long-term narration, this super-thin story line focuses on a kidnapped singer (Diane Lane) and her ex-boyfriend (Michael Pare) who goes forth to save her through rainy streets, the roar of elevated subways, several alleys, and the usual warehouses. Each thrust of the story has rock music that follows along with the narration. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

This takes me back to a time when action had purpose, to when chivalry had form, and to when classic heroes rescued their friends to the driving beat of good old fashioned Rock & Roll!! This fable happens in a 'Verse where Rock & Roll rules the Land! I LOVE this Movie!! Michael Paré is one tuff ex-military drifter you don't cross, especially when it comes to his women! He joins a wise cracking talent agent, an aspiring new rock group, and a disbelieving female bounty hunter on an escapade to get his kidnapped ex-girlfriend back! Diane Lane is the perfectly Sexy Siren who bewitches The Bombers Biker leader into felonious action during one of her steamy concerts! ( "I CAN DREAM ABOUT YOU" too Diane! ;-)) Plus it's all set to one my favorite soundtracks ever! And in the end we learn even the tuffest of heroes still have hearts! This Blu-ray has everything! Awesome picture, great sound, music you'll want to play again & again, and plenty exclusive extras(MUSIC VIDEOS!!)! BUY THIS RELEASE!

It's billed as a Rock and Roll Fable and it ROCKS!

Kick Butt movie with Willem Dafoe as one of the greatest bad guys ever!! Perhaps Michael Parés best performance. Diane Lane was 19 when this was made and she was believable as the rock star Ellen Aim. No matter what I see Amy Madigan in, still 25 years later she is always "McCoy". Standard Boy rescues old flame plot, but with enough friction between the main characters to keep it interesting and somethimes funny. Excellent lighting, sets and editing to keep the movie on a fast pace, and the soundtrack/backing music by Ry Cooder, The Blasters and others make it an intense movie!! This was a Walter Hill movie he shot just after 48 hrs. One of the best ways to kill an hour & ahalf on a rainy, cold evening!!

      Not that bad

sure this flim may be a little campy in it's plot but it does have a 50's rock score and the way I look at a movie is that at the end of the film do I feel like I have just wasted an hour or two of my life and with this film I did NOT feel that way . In fact I had just told someone anout this film and recommended they see it . I look at a lot of moives and in 51 years I have seen my share of bad films this is not one of them , not great but not bad .

I have always liked this movie (and always been disappointed that Director Walter Hill never completed the planned-for trilogy). Lots of action, great music and some nice glimpses of actors in their early years (Diane Lane, Willem Dafoe, Rick Moranis). The Blu-Ray makes the music rock better and the graphics shine throughout.

As this was one of my favorite movies of the 80's, I was really excited to see that it has been released at a reasonable price. Not only is the video typical blu ray quality but the audio is fantastic too. Being an old ****, I really enjoy seeing Diane Lane again as a young lady. I was young back then, too. Buy it and enjoy it!!

Excellent Picture Quality with the Bluray Disc. Arrived 4 days fasted than the estimated arrival time with free shipping. This is an all time favorite of mine that my wife had never watched. Now she loves it too. Just a fun movie with great music and some stars early in their career before they became well known

      Film Had Such Potential

Much like 'the Warriors,' 'Streets of Fire' had so much potential to not only be a great movie, but to launch director Walter Hill into superstar director status. But the film, which had a great trailer (just like 'Warriors' did), just fails to live up to the hype. Decent dvd transfer is nothing special.
