I have a second similar item and this works the same, very easy to use, very compact and easy to travel with and lots of possible mounting options. The remote is just the best feature, i have medical issues and I have a hard time holding a phone steady to take still close up shots of models etc. and so I found a small tripod and this allows me to take photos without shaking and blurring pics by allowing me hands off usage. Would make a great remote security item, use an old phone as a wifi camera / video. great price and of good quality so far.

Surprisingly small but does the job nicely. I have decided to keep the remote shutter unit with me at all times for use with a selfie even when I did not bring the tripod. Only possible issue is that is will not open to 6+ inches to take a "portrait" shot, but then most tripods are going to have a "ball head" which will swing over to the side. Pairing with an iPhone was not a problem at all (for the bluetooth remote shutter). Finally, it seems rugged enough that I can leave it connected to the tripod and not fear for its safety. So small and in a "display" box that when I first opened it, I was sure there were parts missing. It was all there, just folded up.
