Q: are the cameras wireless? if so what is the max distance from receiver?
A: Hi Darren. No, this is a wired system and you will need to run cables between each camera and the back of the DVR box. If you are looking for a wireless camera system, I would recommend having a look at Swann's MaxRanger4K family instead as they are excellent products and offer superior wireless range & reliability compared to standard Wi-Fi. If you wish to speak through the camera you would need one of our more advanced NVR systems or a Wi-Fi Camera which advertise 2-way audio. A: Hello 12345. Thank you for your question. Yes, the system can be operated locally without any internet connection you just need a monitor for the initial set up. Once set up is complete, the cameras will record locally to the DVR even if there is no internet connection. Q: will this system work with 5Ghz wifi
A: Hi JimJohn. The DVR needs to be connected via network cable to your router in order to give it internet access if you wish to view remotely on your phone or update its software. Alternatively, we sell a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Antenna as a separate accessory (model code SWACC-USBWIFI) which can allow you to connect wirelessly without the cable. If you won't need to view it on your phone you can also choose to operate it as a local closed system without internet, in which case you would view the cameras on a monitor/TV connected to the DVR box. - SD, Swann Team
