Purchased DVD player to send to my mother so that she can use it while in the hospital. Power supply works in Japan and US. DVD plays fine, and the two built-in speakers are decent. There is even a headphone jack so that you can hear the DVD playback in stereo. The interesting part is that it will also play music CDs, and the playlist is select-able via remote.

Good portability. Fun for young kids. Battery life not the best and picture quality is just ok.

My son loves this DVD player. It is very light to carry with the handles that it brings, and it has a good screen size. If your are buying for a child, I would suggest adding the breakage protection plan. Even though it is a good DVD player, it will not withstand several drops.
