Glad I bought at best buy instead of Amazon, same price. Amazon reviewers were complaining of recieving damaged goods. Broken screens.

Excellent TV - I own a 4,5 and 6 series TCL

Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Picture, RokuThe TCL 5 series is an excellent TV. It's 4K, HDR, and has Dolby Vision and has ROKU built in. What more could you ask for at this price point? The picture quality is terrific, the ROKU OS is the simplest and best OS on TV's today. Roku allows you to download any app you want while other major TV Mfg's sometimes don't allow you specific apps on their TV's. I also own a 4 series and 6 series now. The 4 series is ok but the 5 is better and depending on when the sales are on I would grab a 5 series over 4 if possible. Now the 6 series blows them both away but depending on where you intend to use the TV you can save the cash and buy a 4 or 5 series, they are both really nice. The noticeable difference to me in the 5 series over the 4 series is the brightness of the TV, the contrast is very good, the blacks are better as well, very low input lag (gaming) and the aesthetics of the TV are nicer on the 5. The 5 is a metal finish while the 4 series is a nice black plastic trim around the screen. My son uses the 5 series to play his Xbox games and to watch TV & Movies. Buy it, you won't regret it.

Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I bought this for a new house and got it two months before we moved in because I got a great deal. Unfortunately, when I plugged the TV in all that came up were vertical lines. It was past the Best Buy return day so I contacted TCL. I figured it would be covered under there warranty, but was not. Basically TCL claimed I damaged the tv, which was not the case. So I am out $300+. I have two other TCL tvs and both are great. This was a bad tv and TCL didn't care. I bought a new tv afterwards and wanted another roku tv, but just couldn't support TCL. I bought a Vizio.

Posted .Hi kbrew9,
We’re sorry to hear that you're having issues with your TV. Regrettably, physical damage would not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. You can visit https://www.tclusa.com/support/warranty to find more information on our warranty requirements and limitations. With situations like this, we encourage you to check with the retailer you purchased from to see if they cover this type of issue with the TV. Additionally, if you purchased an extended warranty, you may want to reach out to see if you can file a warranty claim through the extended warranty.
Thank you,

Excellent, especially for the price
|Posted .Features
Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Picture, Price55” model is outstanding for the price. I bought this model after extensive research for four main reasons: Pros: 1. Color accuracy out-of-the-box and even better after little calibration. It requires very little adjustment and even if one made no adjustments, most would still be happy with the picture. It also has a wide color gamut. 2. Support for all major 4K digital formats. Most TV’s in this price range only have HDR and not Dolby Vision. This set has both (and HLG). 3. It removes motion judder from all 24p sources. This improves motion handling whether watching 4K movies or even Movies over Cable sources. 4. Excellent upscaling of HD, 1080i, and 720p sources, especially those from over-the-air or a Cale box. Cons: 1. A little bit of dirty screen effect although I only notice it when running test patterns on YouTube. 2. 60hz panel although that’s expected at this price as no TV under $500 has a native 120hz panel. 3. Doesn’t get bright enough with HDR sources. If you got the cash for the TCL 6 series, go for that. Otherwise, get this over other sets in this price range including its closer competitor the Hisense H8F which has serious reliability issues being reported.

Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Best Buy does not back up the products they sell. I was really excited about this TV. It worked great for about 27 days. Suddenly, a pop up that never went away. It says “This USB device requires more power. Use power adapter if available. For more help, visit go.roku.com/USB” Mind you, there is NOTHING plugged into the USB port. The TV is basically junk now. Best Buy will not except it back. Not a happy customer.

Two defective TVs in a row - switching brands
Posted .Features
Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use1 out of 5TCL TVs have some great reviews online and, although they are still in the budget category, the 525 is definitely not the cheapest out there. How disappointing that after driving to the store and back 20 min each way, installing it, and hooking up my various streaming accounts, my first TCL 55” 525 started showing signs of vertical blue rectangles on the screen within minutes of beginning to watch a show. I drove back to the store to exchange it - another hour and half down. My second tv was slightly better but had similar blue bars that are not acceptable. So I’ll be bringing it back to Best Buy AGAIN. I’m so disappointed with TCL. Save your money and buy a name brand that doesn’t have these quality issues. I would rate it as 0 stars if possible.

Q: QuestionWhat is the distance between the two legs of the stand?
Asked by Anonymous.

Q: QuestionAs per answers from this question section why is the 55" actually 48.4" when it's supposed to be close to 55" not far behind a whole 5"? But in the specifications it says "screen size 55!" This is what's stopping me from purchasing this tv.
Asked by Manda30.
- A:Answer So the thing is... TVs are measured bottom left corner to top right corner, or diagonally, across the screen. Soo... Remember Geometry class in high school. A^2 + B^2 = C^2 Well you have to use that to figure it out. The TV is 28.1" by 48.4". So 28.1^2 is 789.61 and 48.4^2 is 2342.56. Added together that is 3132.17. Now you take the square root of that and you have 55.967 inches. So you are actually getting a 55.967 inch TV for the price of a 55 inch, almost a full inch bigger for FREE.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between this 5 series and the 6 series QLED? Also do the remotes on both tvs have voice commands?

- A:Answer Each series builds on each other. Both of these series are 4K UHD, have HDR and Dolby Vision support, have a Roku operating system, wide color gamut, auto-game mode, an edge-to-edge glass display, etc. The 6-Series also has CCZ technology and Quantum Dot Technology. Q: QuestionI am looking to buy this tv but before I order it I am curious if I need to buy any other cables to hook it up. I don't have a cable box that it needs to connect to. I just don't want to order a tv and realize I don't have everything I need! Thank you!
Asked by Elizabeth.
- A:Answer Generally TVs do not come with any cables besides the power cable to hook into the wall. The cable(s) you would need just depends on your source. A Blu-ray Player you would need to buy and HDMI Cable. Any will do, no need to buy the expensive ones. If you have a standard DVD player then the analog (yellow, red, & white) cable. This TV comes with a little adapter to hookup the analog cords if needed. But lastly this TV is a smart TV utilizing Roku’s software which runs great. You would just need Wi-Fi to connect the tv to like your laptop or phone. Then you can stream tv like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Apple TV, etc. Hope this helps!

Q: QuestionDoes this TV support Chroma 444 at 4K?
Asked by bully.
- A:Answer TCL 4K TVs do feature all ports with HDMI 2.0, so they are capable of supporting Chroma 4:4:4. But the performance will depend on: 1. Set the HDMI mode to HDMI 2.0 under the TV’s “TV input” menu setting; 2. Make sure that a good quality high-speed HDMI cable is used; 3. Make sure that the source device is capable of supporting 4K output with 4:4:4 chroma; 4. Supported resolutions and frame rates with 10-bit 4:4:4 chroma include: 1080p/60Hz and 2160p/30Hz. With 8-bit 4:4:4 chroma: up to 2160p/60Hz; 5. To ensure best compatibility with various PC graphic cards and 4:4:4 output, select “computer” as the name of HDMI input in the Settings / TV Inputs menu. Thank you, TCL Customer Support
