Synopsis

Tekken
The long-running Namco video game series makes the leap to the big screen with this tale of a young warrior who enters a highly exclusive fight tournament in order to avenge his mother's death. The year is 2039: the World Wars have left the Earth a desolate graveyard. From the ashes of governments have risen powerful corporations, and the most formidable of them all is Tekken. Presided over by a ruling elite whose sole purpose is to lull the masses into submission, Tekken stages a massive sporting event called the Fist Tournament, in which post-apocalyptic gladiators fight to the death for wealth and celebrity. Jin Kazama is one such combatant, but Jin isn't fighting for fame or money. His mother was killed by malevolent Tekken chairman Heihachi Mishima, and the only way Jin can get close enough to Mishima to kill him is by battling his way to the championship round. In order to get there, Jin trains under Lucas, a former Fist champion who knows what it takes to rise through the ranks. But with each new victory Jin uncovers another secret about his own dark past, and learns the apocalyptic truth about the vicious tournament that could bring about the downfall of humanity. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

    A solid video game movie

To my surprise, Tekken is actually good. The main thing I look for right away in game movies, are the characters and they were really well represented. Outside of a few characters: Marshal Law, and Christie M (who doesn't use Eddies style like she does in the game) the rest looked and fought just like the game. The story is a mirror of the Tekken games. What I've been waiting for is a movie based off a fighting game, that focuses on a fighting tournament. This one does it fairly well. It follows Jin, who is played really well, and has lots of decent fight scenes with loads of violence and cool moves. The fight choreographer is Cyril R(the bald guy from district b13 and b13U) The budget actually seemed pretty high, with it's awesome costumes and cool style of it's world. Unfortunately It has an unneeded love interest, and some choppy editing. Some may also feel that some of their favorite characters from the game lose way to fast. Overall it was a fun movie for all the Tekken fans out there. If you go in with an open mind and ready to have fun, you will have it.

Personally I have never been into the Tekken games but from what i hear the story is wayyy off! While the story was predictable and the acting was ok, the action in it was pretty good! That kept me interested for sure. The main girl is pretty hot too! I really liked how they used a good amount of actual fighters in this other than just actors. So it made the fighting look real and believable to a certain extent. If you go into this movie without knowing a thing about Tekken then you might enjoy it like I did. If you're into the Tekken games then you might just hate it. I think it's worth a watch for sure!

Tekken is a solid adaption of the Tekken video game series. The action scenes and story are good, though differ from the crazy story in the games. This movie is way better than other video game adaptions of fighting game franchises like King of Fighters, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat. It is a fun, action packed ride.

A decent movie, it's what you would expect from in the genre of video fight games. Fight scenes were good and the acting, while horrible, was mediocre. Plot didn't follow original video game, but that's what Hollywood does. If you're a collector of these types of movies, buy it. If not, rent it.

Tekken the movie reveals more about Tekken the game. See it from the very start and you will discover a young man's journey brought about by rage and the desire for revenge. Very good fight scenes.

Campy. Has it's good points not the least of having a super hot female supporting actress. Some fun moments but acting is atrocious.
