Tenet [Includes Digital Copy] [Blu-ray/DVD]
Tenet is great but it has a very complicated plot!
Owned for 1 month when reviewed.
The biggest complaint about Tenet is the complexity of the plot and how hard it is to understand! There is a remedy though, you either need to watch it at least twice or you need to watch one of the explainer videos on you tube to fully appreciate exactly what is going on through the movie and the timeline of the different characters.
A CIA agent which is known only as Protagonist must travel through time and bend the laws of nature to prevent World War III. Armed with only one word, Tenet, and fighting for the survival of the entire world, a Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time with the help of his wingman Neil (aka new Batman!), they must go after the baddie called Sator (aka Kenneth Branagh) for having a terrible Russian accent, just kidding but you’ll have to watch it. Just make sure that you have 2 hours and 30 minutes free because it’s not the type of movie that you can stop and start easily.
From a visual standpoint it is pretty awesome and different to Inception. There are so many mind-blowing sequences that combine special effects, direction cinematography. I think this is one of those movies where the more times you watch it, the more you will understand about the timeline. I watch the 4K version as it looks best if your tv supports it.
What's in the box? 3 Discs - One 4K Disc feature film, One Blu-ray Disc feature film, One Blu-ray special features and also one insert for the digital copy of the movie which can be redeemed for a movie download on the various app platforms.
The box is the Metallic SteelBook cover with special artwork.
Purchased this movie after seeing the trailer and seeing how crazy it looked and can honestly say I was not disappointed. Christopher Nolan has been a genius at making the most complex movies ever since my favorite movie from him The Prestige was made back in 2006 and the even crazier movie Inception. This movie is no exception to those previous movies and one that, at least for me, have to watch a couple of times before being able to say, ohhhhh now I get it, (and still even barely able to say that) haha. Like all his other movies this is one that you can't even blink without missing a key part of what's it's trying to explain to the audience and keeps you trying to figure out even after the movie is over.
Got tenet as a holiday gift to myself. Have a panasonic 4k player that a bought a few months ago and a lg 75 in 4k tv that I've owned for 2 years now. Believe it or not, tenet was the first 4k movie that I've bought and watched... The experience was great. Action packed movie that is very deep. Reminded me somewhat of Inception with Leonardo dicaprio. If you don't want to think then tenet is not for you. Many bonus features and the 4k experience along with my surround sound was unbelievable.
Although not as good as other films of Nolan's, say Inception, the film is still amazing. Who else is able to create such original Hollywood films in this day and age? Caution: sound mixing is interesting, to say the least. Set piece scenes are VERY LOUD.
