There is a little blue light indicating power. It is so small you may miss it, I love that. I hate bright LEDs shining at me especially at night. The power cable disconnects from the unit. If you are worried about "Vampire Electronics" you can easily pull the plug on the back (not recommended while devises are plugged in according to paperwork, but I still do) or put a switch on the power cord near the outlet. The ports will charge to a set amount of 2.4mA (Think thats the charge unit) with a total charge of 8mA if all 5 plugs are being used at the same time. I paired this with 10 foot insignia charge cables to replace the small 6 in. or 1 ft. cables that usually come with electronics. I can charge my PS4 controller, Gaming headphones, tablet, cell phone, and electric lighter all at the same time.

Price was compatible to another brand purchased and have had no problem with this device.

This 5 port charger, charges very fast. Would recommend to anyone that needs to charges multiple things at once.
