my opinion, there are only a few truly great television series in the sci-fi/horror genre, especially today. They just don't seem to catch the mainstream viewers' eyes and end up canceled. This show being canceled felt like a Terminator T-800 had ripped my heart out of my chest. It's really, really, really great. If you're a fan of the Terminator movies, especially 1&2, you'll love this. Lena Headey is extremely effective as Sarah Connor, but she brings more emotion to the role than Linda Hamilton did. She's smarter, less desperate, more caring of her son John. Thomas Dekker is fantastic as John Connor, as is Summer Glau as Cameron, and the biggest surprise is Brian Austin Green as Derek Reese, brother of John's father, Kyle Reese. The plot twists are compelling and leave you on the edge of your seat constantly. Richard T. Jones' performance as Richard Ellison takes what seemed like a bland character to great heights, and you found yourself rooting as much for him as you were for the Connors. Dean Winters' Charley Dixon character is heartbreaking and the role of Jesse Flores, played by Stephanie Jacobsen, is hot. The special effects for a TV series are surprisingly good, but what makes this series is the thrilling suspense of stopping the terrifying idea of "Terminators" and "Skynet", the raw human emotion that's perfectly played by the actors, and the fact that the show doesn't treat viewers like idiots. It's smart, emotional, human sci-fi - right where the genre always does best. The music is spot on and really adds to the show, much like the music of Friday Night Lights accentuates that show. The cinematography is pretty good for a television show as well. If you're a fan of the Terminator movies, again, buy Season 1 and Season 2. If you're not, I still recommend you give this a try, because you don't have to be a fan of the films to like this either - there's enough real-life, grown-up drama to hook most anyone. In closing, it's one of the most enjoyable shows I've EVER watched on television. I'm really sad that it's over, but glad that I'll be able to watch it over and over again. And I will." Just like the first season, except about three times longer. This one spreads itself a little thinner by adding quite a few other characters to the mix, but it still has the same level of "we need to be on the move and aggressive all the time against the machines" the first season had. My favorite addition is Garbage's Shirley Manson. Yes, Shirley Manson (I'm only Happy When it Rains, Stupid Girl, Paranoid, Magnetic) is a guest star in the second season. And she plays it up quite well. Again, if there's any justice in this world this series will return before actors start passing away or just getting too old. I know I sound like a Firefly fanatic, but Sarah Conner Chronicles is yet another example of why they need to drain the swamp at Fox. Great picture, great sound, great track, great cast, SUPERB plots, great show. Lots of extras, and the menu is confusing like the first season. Didn't need the cancelation. Recommended on Blu-ray, accept no substitutions.

I think this show is one of the best and original Fox has come up with in quite some time. I love seeing strong female leads and Summer Glau is obviously a break out star who plays that role almost as well as Sarah Michelle Gallar did during the Buffy years. Sure, there are some continuity issues with T3, but if you can over look that and enjoy this show for the original, fun ride that it is you should definitely buy this DVD. That way you'll be ready for season 2 next year.

This series is fine. Its not great, not terrible but just fine. Its fun at times and is overall worth a watch. I typically like to watch seasons i buy several times and will almost always have a few episodes i really like to watch and define my view of the series. This one sadly does not have that for me. Like i said, it is fine. I would recommend watching, but unless its $10 or less, dont buy. Spend it on netflix for the month and stream it because you probably wont ever watch it again.

    Great Storyline

There was a definite upswing in the writing quality toward the end. The suspense and the story arc keep you wanting to watch one more episode. Unfortunately this is the final season, and talks of renewing the series fell apart with the uninspired release of the Movie Terminator: Salvation. This final season is worth the watch, the first few episodes jumble too many plot lines, but as the season develops you'll witness some great sci-fi.

The Terminator series is GREAT! It picks up as a direct sequel to Terminator 2 and has a really awesome story. Unfortunately the show ended on a serious cliffhanger for season 2 and came out when FOX was making new shows but then cancelling them just as they were finding their target audience. This show is great and should be in any Terminator fans collection!
