Set in postwar Germany, Rachael Morgan (Keira Knightley) arrives to the war-ravaged city of Hamburg during a tough winter to meet with her husband and British colonel Lewis (Jason Clarke). As Lewis is tasked with rebuilding this derelict city, Rachel learns that they will now be living with the previous owners of the house, German widower Stefan (Alexander Skarsgård) and his anguished young daughter. Caught between loyalty and temptation, Rachael finds herself drawn towards the quiet intensity of Stefan, but will she succumb? Directed by James Kent.~Clare Perez-Izaguirre Lopez
A tasteful and thoughtful story of life, love, separation and finely renewing one’s direction and eventual deep feeling for one another. The story-line is a superbly crafted triangle of relationships with three principle characters and the director found a way to hold it all together, and give it meaning and purpose. It will be an easy saga to return to and renew acquaintances with.
