The Black Dragon's Revenge [DVD] [1975]

I thought this film was charming. Two Shaw Brothers' alumnis: Lau Hok Nin (Shaolin Mantis) and Jason Pai Piao (Disciples of the 36th Chambers & Shaolin Prince) lend their Hong Kong credentials to a martial arts newcomer Ron Clif. I found it charming because during this time in 1975 you don't see too many HK flicks with an unknown lead. Let alone, a black lead. As far as the production, it was top notch - martial arts wise but the over dubs and the weird dialogue, such as the master saying: "The summer insect never sees the snow; the frog never knows the color of the vast sky; the one who sees the two admires much." I am still trying to figure that one out - Nevertheless, it sort of throws you for a loop in that regard. Overall, I thought it was fun to watch as a kung fu movie fanatic.
