Description
Beloved folk music group The Brothers Four are the subject of this musically-minded documentary that follows the group from the initial success of their first single "Greenfields" through four decades of touring and personal appearances. It was during the thriving Folk Era of the 1950s and early 1960s that four squeaky clean fraternity brothers from the University of Washington first found success in the Seattle area, their popularity quickly branching out to the hungry i in San Francisco, and eventually New York. Subsequently signing with Columbia Records, the wholesome foursome proved a hit on the college circuit thanks in large to their distinctive blend of novelty tunes, traditional folk, and romantic ballads. While much would change over the next few decades, the group never ceased to entertain the folk-loving masses. In this film, interviews and archival footage combine to offer the most intimate portrayal of The Brothers Four ever committed to film. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
