Good movie for parents with young children
This movie will not be on my list of all time favorites but should be viewed by young parents. It portrays an event that could easily happen to anyone not cautious in tending to children when on the streets. It's a kidnapping horror acted out in good detail with a surprise ending! It's a movie worth watching and keeps you guessing. I watched it a second time two days later to catch parts I had missed. Again, a very good movie but not top shelf!
Not even sure why I bother writing these reviews as they never seem to get posted without doing it more than once.
This is a pretty good flick and I didn't think I'd like it that much with Ryan Reynolds in the lead, but he pulled it off. Overall a good flick.
The movie all in all was good, it was very weird and uncomfortable at times but I think it was intended to make the audience feel that way. The plot was great and Ryan Reynolds was great in it! The cast, the plot, and the writing of this movie were really good.
There's a lot of sick "O's" in this world! This is a very suspenseful movie. It 's crazy what some sick freaks will do to snatch children from their love ones. This movie really exposes the lengths and things weird O's will do to kidnap children!
This is a different aspect of Ryan Reynolds. This is a more dramatic role for him and he does a fine job. The story moves well, but does get a bit slow in the middle. It was worth a rent or view on Amazon or Netflix.
I love Atom Egoyan's films. I have been a fan from the beginning. But his last few efforts seem to show a vastly creative man of the cinema running out of steam. The Captive has some great moments though... mainly from the outstanding cast in true stand out performances. Cheers to Ryan Reynolds in a dramatic turn as a father searching for his missing daughter.
This movie was a bit hard to follow as it kept going back and forth, 8 years ago to the present. Once I finally understood what was happening with the time swapping, it was a pretty good movie.... a bit strange though. Not as good as I thought it would be. Now that I've bought it, don't know if it will ever be watched again.
