The Christian Traveler [DVD]

This box set of six documentaries caters to those with a deep and sincere interest in the early history of the Christian church, with an on-camera tour of the various sites where Jesus lived and walked, and the many sites frequented by the Apostle Paul. First on the bill is The Gates of Jerusalem, a program narrated by Richard Kiley that discusses the mysteries and wonders belying the eight titular entryways. Next is Journey Through the Bible Lands, a tour of the Holy Land with stops in such locales as Jericho, Masada, Bethlehem and Jerusalem. The third documentary in the set, The Exodus Revealed, examines the surviving physical evidence of the Exodus, while the fourth, Where Jesus Walked, follows Christ's footsteps through the Holy Land, with a contemporary look at the places where he lived and ministered. Helena, First Pilgrim to the Holy Land joins the woman of the title as she also follows the geographic journey of Christ, then sets out to build churches in Jesus's name. Finally, The Apostle Paul finds Oscar-winner Ben Kingsley narrating an account of the various stops in Paul's life journey, such as Corinth, Philippi, Athens, Ephesus and Rome - while the film takes viewers to those very places.
