Five young men with varying past vie for priesthood at a Paris chapel in the first season of the French television drama The Churchmen: Season 1. This collection includes every episode of the premiere season, featuring the seminary hopefuls each with a unique backstory: the naive Yann (Julien Bouanich), the simmering Emmanuel (David Baiot), the doting Gillaume (Clement Manuel), reformed convict Jose (Samuel Jouy) and Raphael (Clement Roussier), looking to leave behind his kife of luxury and its pitfalls. Along the way, they are guided and questioned by the enimatic head of the Capuchin Seminary, Father Fromenger (Jean-Luc Bideau), who looks to learn more about each of his new charges while dealing with the harsh, dogmatic Monsignor Roman (Michel Duchaussoy).
