10 DP Albums at a Great Price!
||Posted .This is a great collection of Deep Purple Albums - Richie and Ians' heyday with the group. The first Deep Purple Albums were more keyboard-oriented but Richie's work was very unique. For the most part, these albums are Deep Purple's strongest. If you like DP at all, you probably already own Machine Head, which is included. The others in this set are similar to that album with the exception of Come Taste the Band, which is the only one in this set with Tommy Bolin in place of Richie - I like it as much but it is less of a rocker. I prefer the albums with Ian singing - perfect voice for this type of music.

Deep Purple RULES!
||Posted .The first 10 Deep Purple albums in one box for less than $50! What a bargain! All sound fantastic! The later records with David Coverdale on vocals are not quite as good but I did discover some gems within those records that I had never heard before. The only negative is that like all of these "Complete Albums" collections the box comes with the CDs in cardboard sleeves. There are no booklets or liner notes whatsoever. So, if all you care about is the music, then this set is for you.

No frills, just the music
||Posted .If the listener just wants to hear what one of the original 70's "heavy metal" bands (they never considered themselves as metal) sounded like, this is a great box set. No extra stuff or reading material, just the albums on CD. The music speaks for itself!

An Excellent Collection
Posted .Ordered this off of Best Buy.com a couple years ago, and I'm completely satisfied with this collection. Like all hard rock/heavy metal fans with a passing knowledge of Deep Purple, I was familiar with the seminal albums Deep Purple In Rock, Fireball and Machine Head, but little else in the discography. So, to further immerse myself in this great band, I bought this collection. For fans of early heavy metal/heavy prog, this collection is a must. Three of these albums are live recordings - Made in Europe and Made in Japan are probably two of the greatest live albums recorded in the 70s - and the seven studio outputs are all excellent as well. I knew Deep Purple was a good band before I bought this collection, but now I know that they are a GREAT band. How is this group not in the Rock Hall of Fame? Ritchie Blackmore plays virtuoso solos on many of the tracks, Jon Lord plays the organ like nopbody else, and Roger Glover pounds out a fantastic bass, not to mention Ian Paice's excellent drumming and Ian Gillan's (and later David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes) screaming vocals. A must-have collection for any fan of hard rock/heavy metal.
