Great Movie, Not so good copy
||Posted .The Count of Monte Cristo is very good book. This 1934 screen rendition is very good, also. Although it doesn't cover every detail in the novel, it covers most the themes. It was well produced for the day, and the acting was very good. If you like fictional movies that are based on history this is a great one to watch. My only disappointment is with this DVD copy I bought. It is not the best; it is as though whoever produced the DVD did so from a not so well preserved copy of the film. The video is a little grainy, but, the audio is okay. But, it is not so bad that you can't watch it. However, the copy I have saved on my Comcast cable box is much better, clearer video and cleaner audio.
