Edith Holden (1871-1920) was an English artist and art teacher, but is arguably best known for a volume that she penned and that was published posthumously in 1977 as The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady. A conglomeration of poetry, seasonal observations, and illustrations of flora, fauna and insects, it became a massive international bestseller, and then this popular miniseries that aired on British television from February through May 1984. Pippa Guard stars as Holden. Each of the 12 installments covers one month out of a year; all appear in this box set as originally broadcast.
