The plurality of the title is not accidental: as this History Channel compilation reminds its viewers, the term "D-Day" refers not simply to the June 6, 1944 landing at Normandy, but to any major amphibious military operation. On that note, over 100 such D-Days transpired on the WWII Pacific Front. An unofficial successor to the History program World War II: The War in the Pacific, this sister documentary series analyzes in great detail the various military operations carried out by the USAF on the Pacific Front of the early-mid 1940s. Themed segments include: Death at the Tideline, Closing the Jaws, The Final Graveyard, The Bloody Hills of Peleliu, Biography: Admiral Chester Nimitz, and Biography: General Douglas Macarthur.
