    Synopsis

    The Day
A small band of friends make an uneasy alliance with a mysterious lone wolf in this blend of horror and adventure. An unnamed catastrophe has turned the Earth into a wasteland, and as packs of feral cannibals wander the countryside, a dwindling number of survivors struggle to stay alive. Rick (Dominic Monaghan), Adam (Shawn Ashmore), Henson (Cory Hardrict), and Shannon (Shannyn Sossamon) have been journeying together for months and are the last living members of a much larger group. Mary (Ashley Bell) is a solitary woman who crossed paths with the survivors and is now traveling with them. She isn't interested in discussing her past or becoming friends, but the others learn she's a powerful ally in a fight. The travelers take shelter in a house, but are soon surrounded by cannibals; they quickly realize just how strong a warrior Mary can be, while also discovering the terrible truth that led her to wander alone. The Day was directed by Douglas Aarniokoski, who has accumulated extensive credits as an assistant director and helming second-unit material on major films. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

      Once more into the post-apocalypse

I mostly bought this cuz it had movie cash for Sin City 2, although the cover was looking right up my horror-addicted alley. It's a decent but not great survival story where once again man is the worst enemy in a society that is gone. Not reinventing anything, but a fun enjoyable ride nevertheless. Better than most low budget post-apocalyptic flicks, check it out if you're into the genre. I have to say though, I liked "The Divide" better (similar in setting and genre only, but another recent blind buy for me).

This movie is terrible, the plot is as weak as the cinematography. It can be compared to a fill-in-the-blank puzzle as you are left on your own to figure out all the how and why's the writer / director forgot to put in! The only plus is the actress Shannyn Sossamon (Knight's Tale) who's acting is utterly wasted in this picture. It is an hour and a half of your life you can never get back after watching it, if you even make it through to the end.

At first, I thought this was a apocalyptic movie that involved zombies. Well, I was wrong! This movie though is a great alternative and I enjoyed this very much. I thought the line up was pretty good, and they all did their part.

The story is pretty much like any other horror post war flick. The action was a little slow and at times I got bored with it. Having sat through the whole film I was let down at the end as it really killed the movie.

Other than what I have mentioned above already there is not much to say about this. A lot like Walkign Dead cause everyone is apt to get axed/killed at any time

Like so many other films these days, the acting is an afterthought that really takes away from the plot.
