Synopsis

The Dead 2
When the zombie plague hits India, an American turbine engineer embarks on a terrifying 300 mile journey to save his girlfriend and their unborn child on the outskirts of the Mumbai slums. It all started with a single infected worker from Somalia. From the moment he stepped onto the docks, the fate of the entire country was sealed. Now, in one of the most populated countries on the planet, there is no escaping the curse of the living dead. Meanwhile, in the serine countryside, Nicholas Burton (Joseph Millson) works to build a remote wind farm. Upon receiving a panicked call from his girlfriend Ishani (Meenu Mishra) in Mumbai, Nicholas is shocked to learn that she is pregnant, and that the city has been overrun by flesh eaters. Now, in order to reach her in time to catch the last flight out of the country, Nicholas must fight his way across the country with few weapons, and only a street-smart youth named Javed (Anand Goyal) to guide him. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Bluray version - good color saturation, good sound design for the movie. Not a follow-on of The Dead #1 movie, but based on the same concept but taking place in India. Movie starts out great, fast moving and well done. Then it falls apart. Action scenes are filmed in a camera sea-sick mode where they shake the camera to emphasize motion. Made me almost want to loose my cookies a few times. As the movie goes on, it really slows down. I only nodded off twice. The traveling scenes had little or no action. Movie also lacked a Technical director. When you run over a zombie, and your vehicle suffers no damage, why would you leave it and start walking? When will they learn that you can't get 50 shots out of a 7 round magazine? As always, the main actor makes lots of stupid decisions, intended to make the viewer upset at his actions. Like, why would you walk into a group of zombies instead of walking around them? (Railroad track scene). The ending was a big let-down. Spoiler alert - they ended up trapped in an underground room. Why? Is there a The Dead #3? I hope not. The disc comes with Deleted Scenes - (only two of them), where the second deleted scene was blurry. The actual video was blurry. That tends to show that they rushed this movie into production and didn't care about quality at the end. Save your money, wait to watch it when it's free or in the $1.99 bin.

I had read a great deal about the Dead 1 which lead me to buy it and watch it several times. Well the creators of the Dead 1 came out with the Dead 2 and I had heard nothing about it. I bought it due to price and the fact that I do enjoy zombie movies. Just as the Dead 1 the Dead 2 was so much more than a Zombie flick. It took place in a very foriegn land and actually had a story worth following. The cast were unknown to me but all exceptional in their role. I highly recommend the movie to more than just zombie lovers!

The Ford Brothers do it again. Enjoyed the movie more than the first one. If you are a fan of the zombie genre, you will like this movie. It admittedly follows some of the plot lines of the first movie; but they mix in some different ingredients to the storyline to keep it fresh. SPOILER ALERT: The main characters travel buddy does not get eaten by the zombies. I would still recommend this more as a rental and not for purchase, unless you collect movies of this type.

In this ferocious sequel to the worldwide horror hit THE DEAD, an infectious epidemic spreads through India as an American turbine engineer (Joseph Millson of TV's 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY) learns that his pregnant girlfriend is trapped near the slums of Mumbai. Now he must battle his way across a 300-mile wasteland of the ravenous undead.

The Dead, the original movie was absolutely incredible. A unique take on the zombie story. The Dead 2 is just really a retelling of the first story. It is by all means not bad and if this is the first movie you get to see in this series, then you are in for a treat when you get to see the original first movie.

Not as good as the first but still entertaining. The setting changes from Africa to India during a zombie outbreak . The main character must survive long enough to save his Girlfriend and their unborn baby. A little slow at times but it has its moments. Recommended

The first one was unlike anything I've seen before and if you liked that one you will like this one as well. Having an apocalyptic movie in a third word country adds to the realism and horror of the film. Both these fils are underrated gems.
