Back to basics
Posted .I've been a fan of TES since Arena. It's nice to see Bethesda getting back to basics. From the start you see and hear Bethesda going to the roots of what makes TES great, from the epic musical score to the breathtaking graphics. Everything is exactly what it should be. Thee are some minor quibbles, but that's all they are.

The defining RPG for Xbox 360
||Posted .The Elder Scrolls series has been the flagship RPG for the past generation of consoles (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), and especially on the Xbox 360 it has proven to be one of the best games for the console, regardless of genre. Skyrim is the 5th installment in the series, the 2nd on Xbox 360 (Oblivion being the 4th overall and the 1st on the 360), and while gameplay is not necessarily greatly improved over previous installments, the graphics certainly are. Bethesda are known for taking time with game development, and Elder Scrolls is always worth the wait of three years or so between installments. While the main campaign can be done relatively simply, that's not the main attraction of this game. It's possible to play 100-200 hours or more and still have things to uncover. There were bugs and glitches when the game released, especially on the PS3, so I would recommend getting the 360 version if you have both consoles. But I've always waited for the "Game of the Year" editions like the Legendary Edition to get the game, since the DLC packages are included, and the price of the complete edition comes down more quickly now than the launch edition did a couple years ago. Highly recommended!

Open world fun, Swords, Magic and Dragons
||Posted .Saw a price tag of $30 so i went to the cashier and he told me it was $65. I wanted to see how it was considering i had the original for the ps3 first and it was terrible. If anything was wrong i would trade it back. I got it. Played it and it runs smooth, not perfect but way better than it did on the ps3. Textures aren't as bad as people say but if you want a pc quality game then get a high end pc. The soundtrack for the game is awesome and it will immerse anyone who plays it. The story line itself is a bit short but has a lot to do considering it has 3 dlc that come with it and has a ton of side missions. I found myself wandering than doing any missions. If you get this game i encourage you to roam and try to discover places. Leveling up isn't that bad either but once you hit level 35+ it will be a little bit slower. Skill points can be spent on whatever section you want and it each skill has an in depth tree to upgrade whatever you heart desires. This game makes you feel powerful but at times the dragons can get annoying. I recommend this game to anyone who likes exploring vast open world games, swords ,magic and feeling like a total bad_A**.

A game you can really get into
||Posted .My husband and I both play this and we both enjoy it. We are at different gaming levels (he's a bit more advanced then I am) and there's something for both of us and we can take it at our own pace. My only wish is that he and I could play simultaneously. Since he's more advanced, when we play the same game he sometimes likes to help me along on quests or give me stuff he's no longer using, but I guess it's better that I have to make my own way in this game and learn on my own.

Satisfying
||Posted .It's difficult to ever feel completely satisfied with a play session of Skyrim. There's always one more pressing quest, one more unexplored tract of land, one more skill to increase, one more butterfly to catch. It's a mesmerizing game that draws you into an finely crafted fictional space packed with content that consistently surprises. The changes made since Oblivion are many, and result in a more focused and sensible style of play, where the effects of every decision are easily seen. Featuring the same kind of thrilling freedom of choice The Elder Scrolls series is known for along with beautiful visuals and a stirring soundtrack, playing Skyrim is a rare kind of intensely personal, deeply rewarding experience, and one of the best role-playing games yet produced.

Great RPG!
||Posted .I'm a mature gamer chick and I love this RPG! The detail is amazing from the scenery to the characters. This is a game that you can play for hours, set aside and play something else for a bit and come back to Skyrim and just pick up right where you left off. It's like coming home to old friends. I especially like the DLC Hearthfire. It was so much fun gathering the materials and building my own home(s). The battles are just hard enough to be fun on the normal mode and the dragons are awesome. The only thing I would wish for is more personal interaction and more varied conversations with the other characters. After you've played for a while the followers or family members saying the same thing over and over gets a bit stale.

Meh... It's Great, but it Glitches Sometimes!!!
||Posted .This is a GREAT game. The storyline is a little tricky in some parts if you don't know what's happened in the game's past, but it clears up in the later stages of the game, somewhat. Be careful though! This game DOES Glitch/Freeze Randomly forcing you to turn your system off and then back on to continue gameplay from where you last saved. You might want to check to see if there are any updates/patches that fixes this problem online. Aside from the glitch/freezing this game is GREAT. It has the original Skyrim Game, along with the Add-On's Hearthfire, Dragonborn, and Dawnguard! This means, that you have the ENTIRE Elder Scrolls V Series all on TWO Discs!

The western RPG comes in many shapes and...
||Posted ....sizes that don't matter at all. Skyrim basically World of Warcrafted hundreds of thousands of gamers who previously had no interest in either this setting or genre, and there's something to be said about that. Replayability is pretty much at its peak with this game, the Fallout titles being about the only things that come close. Dig in for a long stay, it's hard to put down. Ever.
