The Green Hornet [DVD] [2011]

I grew up on the TV series with Bruce Lee( kato) and Van Williams as the Green Hornet, This is not the same but I thought it was really good Seth Rogen was ok as the Green Hornet but Jay Chou was great as Kato he made the movie with his martial arts ,watching it in 3D was better than normal it was intense

If you remember the original Green Hornet TV show back in the 70's was a more serious action packed show. This Green Hornet movie was more of a comedy base but still had lots of karate and fighting and a choice of cars that were turned into fighting machines and gadgets that would put James Bond car to shame. This movie is funny and light hearted and worth watching. Seeing it in 3D Blu-ray movie makes it even that much more better.

not a great movie...average remake of the film...enjoyed having the movie in 3D and video was really good...feel better about purchase as it was on sale...

Waited on the 3D version to go on sale now I have in my collection. Great movie with action.

Had the Blu-ray version of this but when I found out the 3D came out I had to buy it being a huge 3D fan.

This movie is a jump off of the original Green Hornet comic book and television series. Seth Rogen is slightly awkward in the leading role as the Green Hornet but as the movie progresses his character becomes more likable through his relationship with Kato (Jay Chou). Kato and his cool gadgets were the star of the movie. I enjoyed the appearance of Cameron Diaz but found myself wanting to see her character get more into the action, so I guess that means if they make a sequel with the trio I will watch it. I found that I liked the movie better the second time I watched it, probably because I was not expecting the flavor of the original tv series this time. Blu-ray disc, packaging, picture and sound quality good. Presented in 2.40:1 aspect ratio. Includes special features: commentary, gag reel and writing the green hornet featurette.

I was lucky enough to get 2 free movie screening passes to see this a month before it was released in theaters and the main reason i first wanted to see this was for Jay Chou because i thought he was a good actor in Initial D. This was actually good, it had a lot of action in it mixed with comedy. Definitely something worth checking out. Never seen the old Green Hornet so i dont know how this lives up to it but I believe they did a good job. I might be adding this to my blu ray collection!
