The remaster of "the honey drippers Volume One" is a cool, yet quick listen. I have always been enamored towards "Sea Of Love", my favorite track here. Robert Plant sounds most at ease and real on "Sea Of Love". "Rockin' At Midnight" is the get up and dance like it's the 1950's tune, again, Robert Plant carries the song. "I Got A Woman" always sounded filler to me, "I Get A Thrill" and "Young Boy Blues" are done well, easy listening treasures are they. Overall, this was quite a unique blend of Big Band and 1950's soda hop flavor blended together. Back in 1984 it was a culture shock for me to hear and accept Robert Plant doing this music. Forward to 2009, the shock is over and "the honey drippers Volume One" has turned out to be a fine, mellow, chill down of a listen.
I would recommend this to a friend
