Synopsis

The Incredibles
Directed by Brad Bird, The Incredibles revolves around former high-profile superhero Bob Parr (aka Mr. Incredible), who has not-so-successfully settled into suburban life along with his wife and kids under the watchful eye of the Superhero Protection Program. A far cry from the "glory days" during which "supers" were a welcome addition to society, the Parrs' living situation was brought on after a series of superhero-related lawsuits forced them into hiding. When not trying to fight small-time crime undercover with fellow former superhero Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson), Parr (voice by Craig T. Nelson) is muddling through the corporate world as a paunchy, emotionally unsatisfied insurance claims adjuster. His family is like any other with some notable exceptions -- his daughter has the uncanny ability to become invisible and create impenetrable force fields at will; his son, Dash, can run at incredible speeds; his wife, Helen (Holly Hunter), is known in super circles as Elastigirl, one of the most respected (and pliable) superwomen of her time. Just when it looks as if things can't get any worse for Bob, he gets a summons to show up at a remote island to receive instructions for a highly classified assignment, which he promptly accepts. Thrust back into the world of fighting crime, the Incredible family is back in familiar territory -- saving the world from Syndrome, a jilted former fan of Mr. Incredible. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi

    One Of My Absolute Favorites

I don't know why, but The Incredibles has definately made my all-time favorite movies list! Maybe its the way the characters themselves come alive (the result of superior casting by PIXAR)? Maybe its the storyline that shows so much realistic circumstance and family warmth? Maybe its the oh-so-perfect score? I don't know for sure, but I do know one thing- I simply can't ignore a movie that has all these elements in one place! The movie just portrays each character so well that I can't help but feel for each and every one of them! From Violet's teenage angst to Bob's feelings of disposal, its all there and so easily relatable you'd almost think that they were your own (super) family! PIXAR's animation is once again at a new high with effects such as hair and water animations looking incredibly (no pun intended) real! The only glitch I've caught so far was during the dinner fight when Violet yells "you'll pay for that" with no lip motion just before rushing under the table to continue fighting her brother. Believe me, that came from HUNDREDS of times of watching the movie before I ever noticed it- such is PIXAR's level of attention to detail! Obviously, I cannot give The Incredibles enough praise so go out and buy it- you may not enjoy it as much as I have, but I KNOW you will enjoy it!

This is one of the best super hero movies ever made! The Incredibles tells the exciting tale of a family of super heroes who must save the world from a would-be world conquerer. Along the way, they come together as a very close knit family. The animation is outstanding, as is to be expected from a PIXAR movie. Everything is expertly drawn and the animation is fluid and natural looking. All of the colors are bright and vibrant. This helps to make the many action scenes even more exciting. The Blu-Ray transfer is flawless. Everything is sharply defined and very clear. Yet another fantastic Blu-Ray from Disney. The second Blu-Ray is packed with extras on the making of the movie and includes the shorts 'Jack Jack Attack' where we see what happened to Kari the babysitter and 'Boundin'', the story of a lamb and a jackalope. The Incredibles is action packed and non-violent. And is the kind of movie you can watch over and over again. The perfect movie for all ages.

This movie is fantastic. Nay, INCREDIBLE! The animation is great, the story is fun, and the characters are memorable. My 5 year old asked me if she could watch a superhero movie with me since she knows I enjoy them (The CW shows and most DC shows/movies/comics in general), but I don't necessarily deem any of them appropriate for her age. This, however, is perfect. And now she is always pretending to be a superhero. It's by far my favorite animated movie. So many great lines and jokes for kids and adults alike. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and buy it. If you have seen it, why don't you own it yet!?

I remember watching this movie when I was a kid. I'm 24 now and just recently started to realize how great pixar films are so now I'm collecting them all and falling in love with these movies all over again. The Incredibles features a great story line of a once big super hero who now settled down with his super hero wife and has a white collar job and a family but still likes to relive those glory days. I mean come on, for a animated film with a story line like that and characters we can relate too, apart from the whole super powers thing, what's not to love about it. This movie is why Pixar films are and will always will remain classic films for people of all ages.

Bought the movie for our 5 year old son thinking it would be fun family superhero entertainment. It is for the most part although some of the concepts were a little advanced for him. He couldn't understand why the people turn against the superhero (scene where Mr. Incredible saves a man from committing suicide then gets sued by him and the folks he rescues from the train). I also wasn't keen on having to answer questions from a five year old on why someone would want to jump from a building. He also found certain spots fairly scary. Might be better for some kids who are a little less sheltered or are a bit older.

In anticipation for The Incredibles 2 coming out in theaters soon we decided to get this blue ray to watch with our kids. As we do most of the time, the adults end up watching more than the kids do, as they prefer to play around as the film plays on the background. I really like when the Blue Rays also come with a digital copy as it makes life easier on the go. We all have a great deal of fun with the movie and have watched it many times over.

It's one of my favorite Pixar movies and it's a really cleaver rendering of the daily and family lives of former super heroes. It has a lot of interesting takes, witty humor, and lots of action! In the blu-ray format the picture is super clear and you start to notice a lot of small details that are stunning and humorous (but hey that's Pixar, they've never let me down) and the sound is clear and amazing over the DTS MA format! Over surround sound i notice sounds in a way i never have in the DVD and TV formats and you get sucked in to it. All around a great purchase!

I have enjoyed the DVD of The Incredibles since 2005. The Blu-ray of The Incredibles is worth the upgrade cost if you want the sharpest picture, and upgraded sound. Quite honesty, if both versions are viewed from a distance of three screen diagonals or more, the picture quality is very similar. But, for a big screen experience, the Blu-ray is the best option. Yes, the Disney cost is steep as usual. Highly recommended.
