Yes, this is that 2 hour Google advert, with the director of the Night at the Museum trilogy and starring the Wedding Crashers.... Not truly the best sign of things. I love Google, I like most of Shawn Levy's films though he doesn't blow me away with his efforts but does good work, and the Wedding Crashers is probably one of the most overrated comedies of the last ten years or so. I wasn't looking forward to it, and to my surprise it isn't that bad of a film. The best part of Wedding Crashers was the chemistry between Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn and it still holds strong here, but the screenplay needed a bit of work. Its the usual underdog film where they are salesmen who lose their job, only to get internships at Google though they know nothing about technology. So of course, they are set up with a ragtag bunch of computer geeks who must take on their stronger, better, smarter rivals and win jobs. Predictable to a fault, with a shoehorned love story and the accustomed growing mutual respect between the team and you have every other film ever made about underdogs. Still, it made me laugh, and was well acted with some solid direction, but it does drag in the middle and could have been trimmed to a solid 90 minutes or so instead of the 110 minute mark, but its still a good watch, just not a full price movie. The DVD PQ & AQ is of course strong, with a good stable and sharp picture (Digitally shot, style of choice Levy since Date Night) and the standard comedy soundtrack that has dialogue loud and clear and distortion free. Only the Blu Ray could be better. The extras are a let down, at least on the DVD but whats included is good. The main extra is the commentary by Levy, and as usually, is a very chatty commentator, who talks about how he got the gig, film locations, etc, things like that. A good listen for those who enjoy commentaries. The other major extra is the unrated cut, that includes a few scenes that could have worked in the film had it went for an R-rating, which it should have. Other than that, nothing else of note and must buy the Blu Ray to access the rest of the extras (A featurette and some deleted scenes and a few other odds and ends) and is at least worth a rental.

I'm not sure why viewers go to this sort of film expecting total reality and believability, but of course with a plot such as this one, things aren't exactly real world anyway and for heaven's sake people, this is a comedy. I won't go into a rehash of the story as others have done that in previous reviews. I'll just say that I came out of the film happy to have seen it, I got quite a lot of good laughs all the way through, and my final impression was what a basically sweet story it was with sweet and likeable characters. Only a scene in a lap dancing bar made it a bit inappropriate for younger teens, but otherwise, it is a good story imparting some valuable life lessons for young people who think people over 30 know nothing. The two main characters were actually quite nice and lovable guys with refreshingly positive attitudes about life and how to treat other people, and ultimately they came out on top preceisely because of these traits. The film was completely enjoyable beginning to end, and time went fast as the pacing was excellent. Vaughn as writer & screenwriter did a great job with this, so kudos to him. Too bad the trailers are lousy and somewhat misrepresent the nature of this film.

The Internship is a comedy that stars Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. It tells a story about two salesmen of watches who lost their after their company was shutdown. Both decided to change careers after they had a hard time looking for job and decided to try their luck as interns at Google. I was expecting a great movie similar to the Wedding Crashers.Unfortunately, that wasn't the case as most of the comedic scenes could barely elicit any laughter to the viewers. One probably has to be in the Information Technology industry to appreciate the humor in it.Added to that, this had themes that are far from original and refreshing as it tried to rehash the "underdog" theme that is similar to the Rocky franchise and it also provides us how two people who knew nothing about computers ended up being employees at Google and how they helped their fellow geeky team members to appreciate life more than work and instill self-confidence in them.Overall, there is nothing really groundbreaking about this movie except probably getting a look on the Google Headquarters as it was definitely shot on location.

I was really excited for this movie to have a great laugh etc. the plot was great, the comedy was awesome, acting great as well. BUT - and I should have known this since its the unrated version - I felt the club scene was way out of place and completely unneseary and awkward - I don't know why, especially the time in which this movie was made - but even today - its like a requirement to have something or someone naked in every comedy now. My fav genre ruined. If I want naked ill get an exotic **** movie, please leave it out of these otherwise fun movies so we can watch with our parents our kids or husbands etc without wanting to vommit and hit the off button.

well the internship failed to meet expectations. the movie started off strong and then i don't know what really happened. we really split into 20 different directions so i wasn't sure what I'm really suppose to be following. the movie its self wasn't that great i found myself on my iPhone then really watching because it got dry right after it started. however i did find that one thing really stood out to me is that team work really can make a difference and 1 person really can't do it. so thats what take away overall I'm really on the line about the movie 50/50 some parts were good but most weren't.

The Internship is another funny outing for Vaughn and Wilson. After the success of Wedding Crashers, it's great to see the guys together in another wacky outing. There are a lot of laughs and fun parts, but when you get these two together, I expect wall to wall comedy. The movie fell apart a couple of times when the guys aren't on screen, but over all it is worth the price for a lot of good chuckles and laughs. I hope for their next film together, they ramp up the comedy to 11!

The movie showed that as everyday life changes so does the job market. It also showed that no matter how much you think you can't get something you can persevere in the long run. look at Owen and Vince for a long time they were at the top of their game. Then the top of game was no longer good enough. Change had come about and now they need to reboot and adjust to the world of technology. Something all together new for them. they hung in there and met the challenge.

It is a relaxing comedy which I think is aimed at people of a certain age group. The humor is close to me (35 y.o.) that is why I liked it. The reason I rated good and not excellent is because it is very funny but not hysterically funny. But then different people laugh at different things. Overall, I liked it. Would recommend to those who like more intellectual humor rather than just "cake in the face" humor.
