I purchased this movie for my grandson. He loves dinosaurs and has watched this movie over amd over. Best Buy has been a great place to pick up many great movies for our family.

I received my dvd early. This time the dvd box was not broken, and it had been wrapped better.

I had this in video format when my daughter was young. I remembered loving it then, but have really loved it with my two granddaughters--ages 2 & 4. They are very different personalities and the more socially aware & emotionally mature granddaughter (the 2 yr old) comes into my house asking for "dinosaurs" all the time. She'll ask to view it twice with no problem, glued to the story. The 4 yr old who is not skilled at emotional self-regulation says it's "too scary" and "sad." I remind her that real-life is often scary and sad and we need to learn how to deal with these emotions. She'll agree and keep watching. I always sit with the girls while watching, usually with them in my lap or right next to me, and make observations about how the different dinosaurs respond to different situations. I was thrilled to recently find the cartoon show "Land Before TIme" on TV, so we watch that together and discuss the story whenever they're here during its show time. This has been a wonderful teaching tool, with active adult support and conversation. I really look for stories which entertain and educate. Social-emotional education is so important to start teaching at a young age. Seeing the differences between my two granddaughters is a real eye-opener. We'll be watching Land Before Time for awhile.
