Great game and beautiful story.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a big fan of the ICO and Shadow of the colossus game and was so excited to get this game and it's been a long wait. First was going to be on ps3, but moved to ps4. Which I'm glad it did as the game is beautiful and Trico's AI is good very animal like. A lot of complaints about Trico's AI, but I haven't had any issues yet. This game is unique and not for everyone so watch few reviews and some of the beginning gameplay videos to figure out if this game is for you. There is no battling in this you as the boy has to solve various puzzles or pull chains, pull levers so the bigger gate can open so Trico can enter. Trico is one who defends you from the bad guys. It's story reminds me kinda of a Studio Ghibli movie especially with Princess Mononoke feel to it sorta. Music is wonderful and environment is beautiful.

For the lovers of all things beautiful...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Last Guardian is just as beautiful of an experience as Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. If you haven't played either of those first two, then you are sorely missing out on some of the best experiences the world of gaming has to offer. Keep in mind that The Last Guardian is not really meant for those who have been spoon fed instantly gratifying morsels. It will require patience from you, but that's because you'll be dealing with a giant, lovable beast that can have a mind of its own in a world that will stretch your observational abilities. The "puzzles" are hard and each room will make you think. Sometimes you might just have to sit there and look around until you see it... and when you see it, that "Ah ha!" moment you experience will be like a "Well done" pat on the shoulder from Fumito Ueda himself, the director of all three games. Graphics-wise, it feels like you're walking around in a beautifully composed painting with each section looking just as quaint and full of character as the one before. The animations for both the boy and Trico, the lovable half-bird-half-cat-full-on-giant creature, are amazing and will make you marvel at how fluid and life-like they are. Cat lovers especially will easily fall in love and even dog lovers like myself can enjoy Trico's quirkiness. Even if you don't get the game right away, do yourself a favor and make a note to experience this gem when you get the chance. For the Collector's Edition, the statue is solidly crafted and looks amazing. It's similar to the Todd McFarlane Dragons line of figures. The art book is also a wonderful collection of watercolor pieces that were most likely the inspiration for the items in the game, and the digital soundtrack will stay with you for years to come.

Underestimated Adventure and Fun
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When this game was first announced, I was very skeptical in how interesting this game was going to be in terms of captivating the player and how fun it would be to play a game like this. I had a chance to watch a person play this game for about an hour and that was all it took to make me realize Sony has a pretty good exclusive game that is extremely interesting to play and looks like a lot of fun to play. I think this is one of those games which people may think they want to pass on but really shouldn't. There are a few issues with camera angles for certain and definitely some frame rate issues but nothing game breaking and I would imagine the developer will send a patch before long to fix the greater issues the game is having. Again, this game is definitely worth a play and after seeing the gameplay for an hour I was compelled to take a chance and buy the collectors edition.

Great game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The wait is finally over! After a 10 year drama The Last Guardian is finally here! I couldn't be happier! This collector's edition is absolutely beautiful. The statue is great and the Art Book is amazing as well. The game plays great and looks great with an intriguing story and character development. The controls are slightly clunky but it is easily looked past. A must own for any PS4 owner.

Excellent Set
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The gameplay, the statue, even the packaging are exceptionally well done. Yes, there are some quirks with the movement controls (though some of the updates did help), but if you look beyond that, the story is emotional, engaging and immersive. The collector's set includes a steelbook case, a book including the artwork, and a sheet of stickers in addition to the statue. All of this is in a nice cardboard box that looks like it's made out of wooden planks. While the box is nice, I do wish it were a heaver gauge of cardboard, if not a different material. The top of mine was bowed in slightly and makes it a bit obvious that it's just cardboard... another material might have kept the illusion better. The Trico part of the statue has a good, solid feel to it, though the base feels a bit cheaper, and the boy is included separately and must be placed on Trico's head. The fit is decent, though I worried a bit about potentially breaking something when pressing him in. The art book has a decent amount of content, and the steelbook is nice. The stickers are a bit strange in my view, they're a nice companion to the art book but not ones I would likely place elsewhere. I just keep the sheet with the rest of the set. But overall, an excellent quality set, and well worth the wait!

The Most Emotional Game I've Ever Played
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Last Guardian can be a frustrating experience. Complaints have been leveled at the controls and somewhat clunky AI, but those complaints ignore a key factor: it's somewhat intentional. In The Last Guardian, you play as a boy who wakes up in vast ruins alongside a gryphon creature he names Trico. As a small boy, you have the intelligence of a human to pull levers and squeeze through small spaces, but Trico's massive size lends you strength and the ability to make impossible leaps through the crumbling ruins.... when he does what you say. You see, it can take a few tries to get Trico to listen to you. Sometimes you give a command and he just stands there or he turns to where you want, but doesn't jump at first. It can take a few tries to get him to do so. That's because Trico isn't a robot. He's not designed to be an obedient servant, but a wild animal that's formed a bond with the young boy. Despite his intelligence to learn what you want, he is a separate creature, and an animal at that. These little frustrations in controls actually make that feel more real. It sounds like an excuse, but I say this with 100% belief in my statement. I sat down with this game at 3PM on a Saturday afternoon, thinking I'd play a couple of hours. I turned the game off at 4AM the following Sunday, having completed it. Over that 13 hours, I formed a bond with Trico that I've never felt playing a video game and when the final battle came, where Trico truly shows his bravery against overwhelming odds, it hurt. Seeing Trico hurt anywhere in the game was painful to watch, but the final battle truly pulls at the heart strings. Even moreso, once the story is all said and done, despite my expectations of a tragic ending, I found myself not only crying, but sobbing at the end of this game. I rarely get emotional during movies, not even choked up, let alone crying, but this game touched me in a way that is hard to describe. If you have a pet, or if you ever had a pet you truly loved, there's a good chance this game will having you crying because of how well it portrays that bond between man and animal.

Beautiful game and CE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seriously this is one of the most amazing Collectors Editions I've ever purchased. The game itself is beautiful. The gameplay can be challenging but it reminds me a lot of the designers previous ventures which I enjoyed very much so I don't mind the camera controls as I'm used to such things having played all generations Playstations.

Here at last, years later
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is here finally and its not bad but neither is it amazing. The game it self if really good story is likable. The graphics are nice and beautiful. The only part that will make go crazy at times is the AI.
